I suppose it depends on class/spec as well. I run with water shield all the time. That is an extra 20 mp5. Plus more is someone/thing is beating on me. In most cases I welcome hunter pets, just not the hunters themselves.
You can always take a few sips of melon juice or 5% mana drink.

Doubt it. I can literally stand there and spam rejuv on myself all game and not run short on mana. I guess the only reason for the extra mana could be to switch to resto spec from time to time, prob uses up more mana.

if you're good you will know how to effectively swap between shields when needed. sort of like stance dancing but just with the shield buffs

No, shield means shit, vs rogue/hunter your dead. water or lightning shield. its got nothing to do with "being good".

i have played on cyclone and hamcakeland.

regardless of how the shaman does against the hunter or rogue, a good one will be swapping shields when needed instead of only using one the whole time

any ele in this bracket will go oom pretty often from off healing since the actual healers that are competent are scarce
