Good news for TBC/vanilla raiding enthusiasts

  • So a few factors have lead me to believe that people who honestly want to raid older content at a harder level will be able to with the coming expansion.

    1) The removal of base damage/healing
    - This is huge. With all spells essentially dealing 1 damage plus a portion of your spell power, any reduction in gear worn will reduce in appropriate power reduction. So, if you wanted to raid MC with 40 people again? My guess is you all would go in with level 50ish greens and no enchants/special buffs and your dps, healing, and tanking ability would be commensurate with the original design.

    2) Base health removed; stam the only way health scales
    - One of the largest contributors to the nullification of old content is stamina inflation. Well, since you essentially have zero health while naked, you can very easily adjust your raid group's hp to any difficulty you wish. Want to fight shade of aran again with everyone in such poor gear that AoE pyro could 1 shot again? Have everyone remove a few pieces of gear and your health will drop very quickly.

    3) Vengeance no longer contributing to AP
    - This is huge. Tanks are easily the top dps in any twink raid. With factors 1 and 2 combined with this fact, tank dps will be much more in line with what it should be.

Now don't get me wrong. This doesn't mean old content is going to become any harder. If you wear your fully socketed/enchanted/heirloom gear set and run into molten core, you'll still likely plow through it like you do today. The difference that I'm touting, though, is the fact that gear will have a much, much bigger affect on how strong your character is.

    What do you guys think?

I think you are missing out on the removal of hit rating. In the next expansion you will not be able to stack hit and there for just able to hit something in your level range wich would likely kill level 50s raiding in a level 60 environment. People can stack hit now to hit mobs way above their level wich will be gone in WoD and you will be missing stuff on 4 levels above you like they announced.

Creatures 4+ levels higher than you still have a chance to avoid your attacks in various ways, so as to discourage you from attempting to fight enemies that are much stronger than you.

I could be wrong but this is how i read that change.
