Someone had it dropped from a boss... I don't see that in the blue reply. Only dark iron dwarves and elite mechanicals. Clearly accurate info from his source.... which probably is outdated.

He might not have an actual idea, but he wouldn't actually know anything beyond the sources he has acces to.
It's not about what he knows, but what he can check. I'm not saying it's a guarantee he knows what he's talking about, but this doesn't seem like a false lead.
His sources are probably more reliable than information found on random boards I'd say

Not sure about this.
Over the years with all the different items available to twining ive seem some interesting things. It was eventually shown that with the variety of different responses from service reps regarding single items, their sources were actually online sources such as wowhead, thottbot, and others.
I think they're not able, or allowed to search actual databases to give definite answers to players, or something of that nature.
I could be wrong though
I'm not sure if this is at any level useful information, but as I've experienced theese gloves drop personally - and from friends spending endless hours trying to farm this black hole of an item - they don't drop from regular mobs.
As reffering to the iron dwarfs, there must be a talk about the rare boss, and when speaking of elite mechicals this must be --> narrowing it down to bosses only.
Obviously people allready claimed this above, just wanted to help with the verdict!

There is a long history of GM's (customer service reps) giving wrong information about what drops certain items, such as Shadowfang and Pendulum of Doom.
Either way, it is nothing to me - go on farming those NPC's he named to your heart's content. Be sure to let us know how that goes.

hotshots and caverndeep is bosses only due to their high pre cata item level.

I got them right before the last boss.
Although GM information may not always be reliable, this seems pretty legit to me.
