Dodging Fail

I encounter this every once in a while when I face another rogue. Im strafing to where Im facing them directly but Im just not dodging many of their attacks. But my hits arent effective. My back is completely turned away from them so is this some sort of displacement lag? (where the aren't where they appear). This usually isnt a prob, but am I the only one noticing this?

EDIT: I allways have really good connection. Is it the other player?

It's merely lag on either end. Rogues used to practice getting their opponents backs by just using backstab for the first few days / weeks.

Sometimes I can't seem to get an ambush on a target because of it. It's both a blessing and a curse because if you are the lagging rogue you can be very, very hard to attack but likewise it's very hard to attack your opponent and you have to guess at where to attack constantly. With that being said just try your hardest to determine exactly where your target is (not necessarily his character's visual position) and try to predict his movement so you can still attack his back only meanwhile making it very hard for him to hit yours.

OhEmGee the worst used to be back in the day, you'd be running down field and a rogue would be slicing into your back from like a MILE AWAY.

Lol I used to have 2k MS and trust me if I didn't have the glyphed extra yards on Ambush there would be no ambushes for me.

Sub used to not be viable because you would spend too much time in stealth and not enough time attacking lol! Times have changed!

But yeah back then for me after I hit an action it would take a full 2 seconds for that action to happen. I would complain until people started saying I would hac because they would sap me or CC me and I'd still be able to move for a full 2 seconds after it happened ^.^

Or when I from across the map as long as I targeted someone and used slice n dice it would do about 250 damage instantly for no reason.

Pepper was really good with his MS and would be unhittable where as mine was so bad, I could actually run out of tunnel, beat on someone and then run back in tunnel before anyone would be able to touch me.

Don't forget about my /sit /stand /sit /stand macro that made it so my character would appear to run in a straight line all the way through wsg while being unhittable and then teleport back to where I hit the key for the first time ^.^

Boy we had fun with our lag macros! Keep in mind this is back in the age of dodge rogues ;)

Cheers

I certainly faced my share of lag hackers. Me and my guild never resorted to things of that sort.

But rogues did have a lot of dodge at one point. I think the most geared 19 rogues had around 90% dodge. When I would queue into my buddy Toor (on the enemy team) on his rogue, I always knew I would see him walking backwards with the flag towards his base. If he had heals and we didn't have magic damage it would be annoying.

At one point on my 19 warrior I had around 40% crit and 45% dodge. I'm pretty sure this coincided with when rogues were at their peak stat wise.
