Who are the last of the Enhancement Shamans!

How does "an instant weapon strike" not scale with wep damage?
It requires a weapon to be equipped to use the spell, however, if u ever played an enhance sham u would know it does not scale with anything other then lv. Quite a big mistake for blizzard, making enhance shamans wait till they get stormstrike to really beable to do burst dmg.
See : http://www.wowhead.com/spell=73899#comments, the dmg "formula" does not include weapon dmg, and only is increased upon changing the lv scaling

So basically the only reason one would use a non-dagger mainhand is for the autoattack damage and for fire enchantment procs which hit harder depending on the speed of the weapon and stats of course.

Dagger in mh is bis for all enhance shamans, no reason not to have a fast mh >>

As Flametounge dictates, Imbue the Shaman's weapon with fire, increasing magical damage done by 7%. Each hit causes -- to -- additional Fire damage, based on the speed of the weapon. Slower weapons cause more fire damage per swing. Hence why i use slow wepons...havent done me wrong yet.

The comment is also from patch 4.2

Also u want a faster mh, for the first caster pushback upon melee dmg and more auto attacks means more mana regen, aswell as more crits which give more uptime on flurry.

I still have my AP Enhance Shaman Shmax, Havent played him in ages since I switched to Vashj. I made a pre-BoA BiS Enh on Vashj though. The game play was still fun anyways. I might finish him later on.

Not all wowhead tooltips show each damage component for some reason. This one only has the additional damage on there.

If you look in the spell details, it shows that Primal Strike is based on Normalized Weapon Damage. A traditional slow MH weapon is a slight improvement (Flametongue will also do a bit more damage). The difference wont be hugely noticeable because Primal Strike is awful either way, but that and your white hits will be higher with a mace/axe.

I would just like to point out that Primal Strike's damage DOES increase based off of weapon damage.

I.E., A mace with 20 average damage and a dagger with 10 average damage.

Primal Strike (Mace): 20 + 30 damage

Primal Strike (Dagger): 10 + 30 damage.

I'd say go with a fast slow weap in main hand.
So the best is probably Axe of the Enforcer MH and McGowan OH
