We had the best sportsmanship and most respectful players in Vengeance that's for sure.

Dude the 2v2 skirmish era was all about going hard and being the best. More importantly letting everyone else know how trash they are and not letting them forget it. What is sportsmanship..? If you didn't get to experience that it's like you totally missed out!

Vengeance had the most respected players? Lol I can't even name one that I know of... Definitely Ruin and Cyclone bred more than a huge portion of the names we still remember today.

He said respectful, not respected. I do agree with you about Cyclone and Ruin.

Since I don't believe you participated in vengeance it appears you are speaking of traits indigenous to Ruin / Cyclone. I personally played Nightfall, Cyclone, Vengeance and Vindication in the burning crusade, Ruin in WOTLK.

Vengeance was never about "letting everyone else know how trash they are" as we were more mature than that. Sure there was some ego but after a good game you made a thread telling your opponents good game etc. It happened every single day. If anyone GY farmed there would be a thread up about them within minutes and they would be laughed out of our battlegroup. We weren't known for being sore losers and we would never be caught loss-dodging or afking from a challenge. I have never witnessed such a great display of sportsmanship in any other battle group, which supports my opinion that vengeance had the most sportsman-like conduct.

The reason why you can't name many Vengeance players is because we were not about popularity and there weren't many huge egos... just to name a few players whom you should have heard of though...... Sheep, Quara, Anarcan, Gabie, Slyfox, Vegan, Salt, Pepper, Cirran, Silin, Marcey, Pwndepot, Kablam, Kidneypopper, Peepeepopper, Biff, Drayner, Sidni, Wreckt, Revolution, Fortt, Kunzpopper, Derna. These are all extremely respectful players and would not (in the past) have been caught in the graveyard. I have never whitnessed such a great display of respectful gameplay in any other battle group, which supports my opinion that vengeance had the most respectful players.

Quote me where I said "most respected players" Attention to detail is key.

^.^

I actually played in vengeance for a while and held 1st place in the 1v1 dueling ladder while it lasted.

While I played there the warlock captain jack pretty much out shined everyone on the horde side and you didn't mention him D:

I recently started queing games again basically after a couple years of not playing 19s....They seemed to have dumbed down the bracket quite a bit.

One thing I still notice is all the egos/big talk in games by players who have nothing to show for it. Glad that's still around :)

1. I never knew a "dueling ladder" existed in Vengeance. Not that I would have participated, but folks like Lucid (best rogue I ever saw in the arena) would have.
2. It might have been during my "quits", but I am fairly sure Captain Jack didn't play in Vengeance. I remember him from another BG I played in and then I think he moved to Cyclone.
3. Mocha, you got a lot of names, but don't forget #TOMBRADY

There are some greats from Cyclone and Ruin too, but better than 50% of them aren't originally from those bgs either.

the entire twink community was based around trolling and talking shit and if anyone disagrees with that statement has a couple extra chromosomes under their belt. It's what bred competition within the bracket. When you first started premading there was always that 1 guild that would shit on you and roll over you like nothing, and they would talk shit, so much shit in fact that you wanted to step up and throw it right back in their face. too bad in cata when a guild lost 1 premade they would either completely faction horde or disband. I guess all the kids that couldn't cut it then putting their ego on the line grew up to be emotionally unstable adults not willing to take 1 hit.

tl;dr twinking was about talkin shit n rollin bitches and if you disagree then u a garbotwink

I am sorry, but when exactly did you play? I twinked in Vanilla wow and early to mid BC originally on Hellscream, which is a part of Rampage. We did do premades and stuff, but I NEVER recall "so much shit talking." I am not saying it did not exist, because it probably did, but it sounds to me like you took your trash talking to an all new level at some point and frankly, had a detrimental environment of toxic asshats. Did you even twink in classic wow/Bc like the rest of us? Because to me, you are describing trash talking to be like a sport, which for me, that was in 5th and 6th grade and a fad of ultimate childish behavior. That is also something that occurred with arenas at high level on competitive battlegroups.

Amen #Ugarak !

I was in Vengeance for late vanilla and a good part of BC. We had trash talking threads out there, but there were just as many "GG" threads too. The respect and sportsmanship was off the hook during this time. Even the twinks I had forum beef with ended up being friends later... Slyfox, Nitpick, etc.... Hell, I even like Kidney now and his was one of Vengeance's biggest sh1t talkers.

When I deleted blood elf drayner and resurfaced as GotDots in Vindication, I found another great community. There was a bit more trash talking in the Vindy forums, but the sportsmanship was there too. There weren't too many asshats in Vindication. My forum battle foes ended up friends as well. What was the hunter in Primavera and Gimmesoul's guild? He and I went back and forth a bit.

When I left Vindy and hit Cyclone, I saw a whole new level of trash talk. The forums were littered with this "normal trash talk" some of you are referring to. I indulged the trolls but tbh, the level of sh1t talk in Cyclone back then (late BC/ Early WoTLK) is nothing like it became in later WoTLK days.

It wasn't until the later part of the Ruin Migration days until the trash talk some of you are referring to got the best of the bracket (imo). The breaking of up guilds, the dodging premades, the "we won't premade because 1 single player isn't here" days... The level of trash talk was at it's worse then and hasn't really gotten much better from what I can tell. Back in Vengeance and Vindication, premades just happened suddenly. There wasn't all this 2 weeks of talking and planning. There wasn't a list of agreed upon consumables. It was like, "Hey guys, y'all got 10 on? We have 10 too... let's battle!"

 I miss the MTU vs Dominate games!

tl;dr twinking was about talkin shit n rollin bitches and if you disagree then u a garbotwink

To some, this makes the 19 bracket more appealing but to a "garbotwink" (see my title) like me, it makes the bracket sh1t.

Agreed. I do not understand some of this newer mentality of "maintaining our record." If I wanted to maintain a record that actually mattered, I'd still be doing rated battlegrounds going for my fourth season of Warlord, but I am not, I am twinking for FUN.

Well... I dusted off one of my old 19's and qued-up. Joined a game with a bunch of azzhat alliance standing in the horde gy farming lvl 17 and 18's. The first thing I read was: "don't res so they will stop killing us"....

I don't think he knows he can turn his xp-off now, as that is where all the 19 twinks are these days because of xp being given in xp-on battlegrounds.

I played on ruin cyclone a bit of vengance and retal from vanilla-wrath, stopping at cata when the entire play of twinking changed and there has always been shit talking, and it has always been done by people who had every right to do so. and IDK what point you were proving but that's pretty much what I said. At the later ends of wrath into cata guilds did start freaking out about shit talking and dodging competition. It's those people that were the "garbotwinks" that I'm talking about, because if they had played against a guild that could beat them they probably would have had some sort of mental breakdown and disbanded the guild. This bracket is dying because there is no dominant guild to premade against, because every time there is a dominant guild either they're afraid to play others, or others are afraid to play them.

It's unreal to me that people attempt to deny just how much shit talking went around throughout the years, though it just might be my upbringing in ruin and cyclone that makes me see things differently, but my point still stands regardless of how one is motivated. Without competition this bracket is crap. I for one am looking forward to premading with myrms guild in the(hopefully) soon to be future. I look forward to winning, or losing. Either way as long as either side manages to have a pair in between them I'm sure there will be more premades to follow.

tl;dr: talking shit and rollin bitches was done by those who had played well enough to do so. Don't get your tits in a bunch every time you lose a bg or an arena and take a second to reflect on it. Who knows you might actually learn something.
