How to Expand the Twinking Niche

As everyone knows, the amount of twinks playing WoW has decreased over the years. This can be attributed to MoP making people feel inclined to level characters to 90, instead of playing a twink. Furthermore, twinks obviously have their own battlegrounds now, meaning that you can't twink out and own everyone you see.

At this point in time, we must do everything we can to expand the amount of twinks playing WoW. Here are some great ways we can do that, and some information pertaining the type of people who may feel inclined to create their first twink.

General Tips
  1. Create a twink on a server that is known to have a reputable, steady guild for twinking.
  2. Actively promote twinking on other servers - This will help you introduce twinking to realms that may not have a huge twinking presence - I recommend bringing these players to a "twinking realm", as mentioned in point 1.
  3. As a twink, randomly do the Dungeon Queue. You'll have some OP DPS, healing or tanking - People usually say "holy-". This is a great time to tell them all about twinking.
  4. Duel people in Goldshire, or near Orgrimmar. For the most part, you'll own people - As in point 3, people will be impressed and they may feel inclined to create their first twink.
  5. Twinking may seem difficult and expensive, but it's a fraction of the amount of time and gold you'll spend gearing a level 90. Furthermore, the PvP can be just as satisfying.

Top 5 Reasons to Create a Twink (Used to convince people to do so)
  1. Creating a twink gives you access to battlegrounds in which you hardly ever have incompetable teammates (like in RBGs)
  2. Creating a twink consists of minimal leveling, and mainly gearing / pvping - Which is what you do at level 90 as well.
  3. Twink PvP is much less influenced by inbalance, as most of both teams are fully geared, or close to it (unlike in RBGs)
  4. Twinks are generally smarter and more mature than other populations in the game.

Top People to Approach, for Recruiting them to Twinking
  1. People who are fed up with random battleground PvP.
  2. People who are irritated by the leveling process and profession grinds.

Please feel free to contribute to this.
Of course, most of this is obvious - But this should serve as a guide for newer twinks, or people that have not been actively recruiting other players to twinking.

And this is probably the reason why locked bg's are in decline since the seperation and alot people think that it can't be done anymore in leveling battlegrounds.. but that is totally wrong. The splitting did not split twinks from non-twinks. The seperation created another twink style aka leveling in battlegrounds, lock xp and gear, move on. Also blizzard gave so many people twink gear in the form of boa's that people are able to twink and level at the same time.

Here are some reasons why people should be interested in twinking:
- Smaller player-base, so the bracket becomes a community
- Play for fun, not to grind honor
- In general, better quality games than xp-on
- You don't need to constantly re-gear your toon
- Organized events such as premade matches and arena tournaments

I'm not sure if I agree with this. Twinks may be better at pvp than random players, but I'm not convinced that they're necessarily smarter.

Also, I've only found that twinks in the mid-brackets (e.g. 29, 39, 49) are more mature. The lower brackets (e.g. 19, 10-14) have less mature people in my opinion. I'm not sure about the upper brackets.

You're right. When I said smarter, I simply meant better PvPers than others, in general.
I have found that the maturity of brackets (during my short time as a twink) has been different depending on the time of day you play. For example, Friday nights seem to have less mature players than Tuesday nights. I can only assume that younger kids are 'allowed' to play on Friday nights, but must do homework on Tuesdays - The Tuesday night players must be the working men and women who don't have parents telling them to get to sleep!
