Which should I do?

Dare to be Optimistic
So anyone who has seen me playing lately may have noticed a Dwarf Monk flying around the bgs lately and I must say IM LOVING IT. Due to budgeting I cant afford to much but I finally talked myself into ether buying a Shadowfang or Factioning and getting horde gear and factioning back ally.

In the communities opinion what would benefit me more. The shadowfang (only want one cause Im rocking boa with pyrium offhand) or the Horde gear (Dual Argas, Azure Scale Chest, Wild Rider's Gloves, and Caster stuff if I want to switch it up and do some mistweaving). Doing both isnt plausible at the moment as most of my money is going towards my wedding in sept.

Going Horde. The azure scale vest + the 2nd argas will provide you better stats then a fang would do. If you care more about style choose the shadowfang.

Thanks so much for the input and its solid stuff considering your probably the most established WW monk. Ya I could care less about style. haha Now here is the new question. When i faction back to Alliance, Do i wanna keep rocking dwarf (ive been loving it since there isnt many dwarfs around) or should I go gnome and rock some instant bombs?

Either gnome for the instantbombs (will help you to get some safer fists of fury on the target. Keep in mind that you can't use them in arena) or Human for some expertise + the 2 minute insignia and 2 trinket slots. The dwarf racials wouldn't give you that much. Stoneform is good to 1v1 rogues otherwise its bad tbh :D If you would go for style ofc go dwarf! Im sure flying dwarfs look even better.

Haha, I since Im using the BoA Maces dwarfs have the Mace Specialization (but so does human) Not to mention most of the classes that kills me is rogues (god they eat me alive most of the time especially once they get a taste its like trying to kick off a starving dog) Ive never been a person that plays for style. I play to try and find my style and Dwarf has been working so well but I cant help but think Gnome would be nice for those instant bombs. Good point about the arena part, Im starting to get interested more and more in arena but barley do them, I also play Warrior and tend to find myself playing my Warrior more for Arena nowadays (they dont die as easily)

About the Human insigna, I think the PvP trinkets will go to 3 minute cooldown in upcoming patch (think I read it somewhere)
so maybe think about that before maybe choosing human.

agm with battlemaster trinket + racial owns

But he would still have a spot for a 2nd trinket :) I would choose human as alliance race for a windwalker at any time. The expertise combined with the 2nd trinket slot is just better than expertise and the stoneform. Also i dont want to lose all my racials in arena when playing gnome. The instantbombs are nice of course, but even without bombs there are ways to get fists of furys off and you would lose the expertise.

all very good points. Now to factor everything in.

Ok Im mainly a Warsong player but I am interested in gettin into more arenas with that said dwarf would be hindering me from competing the best I can.

With that in mind the 2 options would be ether
Human- Expertise with both swords and maces, can keep my 2 boa maces until I get a shadowfang one day and both would be covered, 2 min trinket/freeing up spot for BM/AGM combo.
Gnome- Expertise with swords, would have to get BoA swords. Escape artist+Trinket/BM combo (more resil), and Instant Bombs for Warsong to get cleaner Fists/kills after fists

Totally forgot about escape artist... But still human would be my choice because you allready have a freedom with your tigers lust.

Or you could just dwld Tmorph and choose w.e your tink heart desires

Guessing Tiger's Lust would be better for Arenas......I find myself not liking it as much in Warsong, feels like Im lacking most of my mobility/time on targets with it.

when playing vs a lot of druids or mages i would go for tigers lust. But yeh you have to choose between gnome or human. Dwarf isn't that good :D I think human is a little bit better than gnome but overall its personal preference especially when you play wsg mainly

if i was you id go horde and get a fang unless you cannot bring your self to stay on horde for a while

Don't do either, not worth it.

Hey Khaos --

I was thinking about Eliot's post, and what I've noticed about you. I've definitely noticed that you like to try different classes, brackets, getting a feel for the different aspects of low-level pvp. It's nice to see that you are having a lot of fun with the monk -- do you think you'll stop having fun if you don't buy a SF or faction switch twice?

It's definitely nice to have a BiS toon, but if you have to pay money that could be useful for something else, you might regret it later if you don't end up playing the toon a lot in the future.

If you really want to see how good you can get with top gear, I'd recommend faction switching x 1 and playing horde side for a couple of months before paying anymore on that toon.

In the end of it all no I will not stop having fun if I dont do ether. No matter what Im going to enjoy myself and play to the best of my ability. But at the same time I have an urge to gear my monk out as I see other monks doing more damage than me, I feel like I have solid gameplay so it leads me to think of the gear advantage. I have never spent money on an item (shadowfang) but this is the first toon Ive ever considered doing it with due to how much fun I have had on this character. Now I have in the past factioned for gear but never stayed on Horde as I have always been an alliance player. I dont mean this in any offense to anyone but playing Alliance for so long Horde just bothers me and I feel like Im betraying alliance. Being farmed constantly from Horde stirred up a complete dislike for the faction.

Sorry for the wall of text but I thought I should explain that. In the end of it all I really cannot afford buying both a Shadowfang and a factionx2.
