P2P Account Bound Pets and Mounts

    • What do you think about players who have their trial accounts attached to their main accounts, therefore effectively gaining p2p mounts and pets? Do you like the variety that comes with seeing players riding higher level mounts? Or do you see these people as betrayers?

    I currently am on the 7 days free game time on my main account, and am strongly considering getting the Lil Ragnaros pet which is half price at the moment. Would I be betraying my f2p soul if I did this? My treasure hoarding addiction is seriously making me want to buy this stupid pet...
     
    Do whatever you want... it's your money/time/whatever.

    It's really just up to you. I don't see it as being bad, but I personally wouldn't do it. Spoils some of the novelty for me... as stupid as that is. I'm sure some of you will understand my point of view.
     
    I don't see p2p linked trials as betrayers at all lol but it does diminish some of the stuff I've put hard work to get on a f2p that someone with a p2p got just while lving (some of the mounts via dk bug come to mind). It is neat from time to time seeing some of those flying disc mounts or other rarish things in this bracket and I don't think anyone will hate you or get mad that you linked? Only bad thing is you can't be considered pure f2p and cant be on lofis list lol thats about it tbh and alot of people don't care about either of those
     
    I got the pet yesterday only to find out that you cant redeem the code on a F2P account :( Meh.
    And no, i dont think that you would be betraying your F2P soul unless you feel that way.Merging comes with a downside aswell - Loads of achievements. If you do merge your accounts you will not be able to hunt achieves in the same way anymore because you'll have loads of achievements from your P2P account.
     
    tbh when I think about the time I've spent while grinding rare mounts/pets/titles while I was P2P it would be a waste not to use them anymore.
    I'd say go for it but it might be just me :)

    Well, I put in a lot of hard work for such mounts as;
    Fiery Warhorse's Reins - Item - World of Warcraft
    Reins of the White Polar Bear - Item - World of Warcraft
    And many, many others.
    I have my F2P account linked to my P2P account to show that, yes, I am not just another player - I have put time and effort into this game, I'd like to show off the things I've earned on my F2P log in.
    No offense.
     
    Mounts and pets are cosmetic and not game breaking,as long as a person sticks to the f2p restrictions such as enchants and lvl he is absolutely normal in my book.But,i am biased of course
     
    Well if this is about debating wether or not you should link your account... I would not ( key word being I). It just seems to me that doing so instantly nukes your credibility, being that it is then very hard to determine what you got as a f2p or what you got as a p2p... but if you really dont care... and want different/ cooler mounts/ pets then by all means dont let f2p nostalgia hold you back.
     
    So it is a betrayal that I have the Beloved title on my f2p? I worked damn hard to get 70 exalted reps. Tsk two

    Its not a betrayal, it is not as if f2p members are supposed to stay chastely against paying for the game... it would be a sad world if that where the case because f2ps then wouldnt have premades... people to run alts for gear... etc (many good things that come from having p2ps). It just means that you obviously did not get it on a f2p, so people know that you have a linked account.
     
    Well i did it. And Now I'm also roaming around the world amassing a massive amount of pets with the *PET BATTLES* before my 7 free days expires. /Shamefaced. Not really shamed, Now I'll forever get to show off my awesome pets and mounts, while playing for free! Linking is the way to go.
     
    I don't mind it if people have linked their account, as long as they don't pretend they got it on their F2P accounts themselves. I didn't do it because I love achieving and farming pets and mounts and by not linking I can evade that stupid shared achievement BS and start all over again :D
     
    The onIy thing I don't Iike is the goIden fIying dragon mount

    It's big and obnoxious and it unguIates its whoIe body as it moves and it scares me

    I don't even take the time to see what kind of character is riding it, I just run away

    Agreed...

    Don't think people just do it in twink brackets. They even ride them in rated BGs for some ill reason.

    :O That's strange. What sort of error did you encounter? I thought F2P could redeem all Blizz store and TCG items.

    On mounts, I don't mind at all and don't think it's my business either, but it does feel weird occasionally to see high level mounts on lowbie characters. Takes away a bit of the character progression and RP feel.
