Over-Moderation?

You're standing outside of books-a-million discussing something with a few people who are interested and participating in the subject. No one has to listen or weigh in on the subject if they don't want to. Sure the topic could be considered inappropriate by outside opinions but you don't feel like you're hurting anyone, or ruining anyone's day. The people who are being offensive and hurtful are turned away or encouraged to be more thoughtful.

But then a cop walks up and tells you the discussion is over.

I don't know what kind of community this is but unless we're harassing and trolling the people we're referring to and not having a legitimate conversation what-so-ever, a thread shouldn't be shut down just because you don't agree with it. Just something to think about when you aren't busy running a virtual totalitarian regime.

Also I love how anyone who's popular or has a different colored name can say pretty much anything, troll/harass people into the ground, and even derail entire threads until they get closed without having their posts deleted first or any methods of circumventing someone's entire topic being closed because of someone else.

These people are getting threads closed and in some cases you can actively see them trying to get threads closed. Using words like "defamation of character" and "no name" which just goes to show that their real issue isn't even the original poster -but their own status that they're trying to pad on these forums because it makes them feel like someone that matters or whatever it is that gets that dopamine going in those unenlightened self absorbed heads of theirs.

I guess it's easier to just close topics though.

In case anyone wants to know the backstory. Racist conversations aren't allowed (your very first post in the 2nd thread had a racist remark that had to be edited). Trolling people and having an attitude towards someone who has tried to help you is frowned upon. People with different colored names normally aren't the ones trolling it's the other way around. In the case of the boots you decided to be smart with me when I tried helping and you are the one who got your own thread locked.

The racist thread was a bust from the beginning and the boots thread you should have just listened to me instead of making a smart remark. It may not be a rule but it known that all simple questions should be posted in the Q&A thread that is why there has been 3 threads with around 3k total posts and that is why people use the thread. Asking if ___ still drop is a simple question that should have been asked in the Q&A thread then wowheaded if your question wasn't asked THEN make a thread about it. I'm not the only one who thinks this or does this but you singled me out just cause I said it.

Self-absorbed people always think that everything they say is without fault and is above reproach, and that anything someone else says counter to what they said must have ulterior motives or their own self-aggrandizement.

I'll say it directly. You have shown in thread after thread that you are so full of yourself, you think everything you say and do is completely innocent, and everyone's got it in for you, but what you're not hearing is the community as a whole is telling you "Hey, you're being an asshole". We get it that you don't think you're being an asshole... but you are.

Occam's Razor: Are this many people all conspiring to make you look like a jerk, with their own personal vendettas against you for some unknown reason because you're actually a perfect flower... or, are you simply a bigger jerkface than you realize you're being?

Time to take a hard look at yourself. This many people can't be wrong. Communities have a strong self-correcting mechanism, and you're the one out of whack. If you want to be accepted into this sandbox, quit kicking it at everyone and blaming them for being in range.
