Alright, I'm just going to be the one to say it then.

  • I lurk if you don't recognize me, anyway.

<I am dissatisfied with Blizzards decision to merge Battlegroups with different language players.>

We had a good pug match-up against a TI pre-made and over half our team didn't even speak the same language and was juggling flags and ignoring healers.

I can handle playing with new players, I'm usually patient with them and give them tips and point them here to help nurture their growth as players. But these people don't even speak english.

Also, is it THIS BAD Alliance side?

Vent your rage on the subject here <without being racist, since this is Blizzard's action, not the affected areas>.

Last night I had several groups of the Spanish players - in an instance and many battlegrounds. I found 'Google Translate' (I am not as fluent in Spanish as once was) slightly useful, however, some of them are still ignorant (more so than most English speaking players) - which is sad, because it's making the Spanish speaking community look worse.

Hi Velius! I remember your name from that game, that was fun.

The same can be said of English speaking players, IMO it's just the language barrier that's throwing you off and placing your anger and focus on the Spanish speaking players while people that are just as bad or worse go unnoticed simply because they speak the same language as you.

English is my second language btw o_O

It's a game where the majority of the players speak English. We got an influx of Spanish players because it's free. Don't they have their own servers?

does the german severs get grpd with the spanish severs? i'm srsly willing to learn basic german. as long as jajaja isn't in the language...

They are on their own servers. Ragnaros, Drakkari, and Quel' Thalas are all Latin American servers that get their server messages in Spanish (although you can of course set the game client to whatever you want). These servers and the Brazilian servers (Goldrinn is one can't think of the others) are grouped in with North American servers when it comes to battleground and dungeon queues.

So you're telling me you expect someone who lives in a Spanish speaking country who bought a game that was marketed in Spanish has Spanish dialogue and a Spanish client to learn English just to battleground with you? Por que no aprendas español? Pienso que esto seria mas facil. :p

It is not the language barrier always, this stops most players. But you cannot speak do someone, even in their own language if they are ignorant.

I've found that when I try to use my very basic Spanish to communicate, I'm often greeted with hostility or JAJAJAJAJAJA. However, I don't think that the Latin America players are any worse than some of the american pugtards. I just cant stand to look at male blood elves all day.

I dont mind loosing a competitive game, but when I loose cuz there are just too many fucktards on my team /AFK BECOMES A REALLY HANDY TOOL. Try it, youll enjoy the game much more

I think tkatti has a good point. Just because they speak a different language doesn't indicate whether they are decent or not. They have a right to be in battlegrounds just as much as anyone of us. I'm not going to lie, from what i've seen they seem to really like male blood elves, but the point remains.

I think the main point that I'm driving at is the fact that if Blizzard implemented even a CRUDE auto translate the situation would be forgivable.

I know mixing cultures in a MMO isn't going to encourage players to break a language barrier because I've seen players that don't speak english rattle off nonsense like "NO NO U FUCK NO NOOB FUCK YOU" while not prioritizing targets and mid farming.

If these "players" are going to muster up the mental will to learn "Fuck" and "Newb" in English instead of "Incoming" or "Defend me I'm going ramp" I'm not going to bother learning a lick of Spanish.

But that just points back to me and the rest of the player base being the problem so. Blah.

Back to the original theme of this being a rage topic instead of the moral implications involved.

It's not their fault. It's Blizzard's fault really.

I'm not saying anyone should really be blamed but seriously it's not their fault, if anyone is at fault it's Blizzard. They're probably saying "Damn these English speaking bastards! They never listen!".

Two sides of the same street, yo :O

on US servers they aren't speaking Spanish, they're speaking Portuguese, so aII of you trying to communicate with them are probabIy getting Iaughed at for using the wrong Ianguage

they're the same as us, yeIIing at their BraziIian teammates in Portuguese to go after efc, etc - they probabIy taIk about how noobie Americans are with our 1k HP fc mages

shout out to my homeboy Destruidor (sp?) the Tauren prot warrior, number 1 braziI horde

Perhaps it is not them invading our BGs but us invading theirs. It is all a matter of perspective. Can't we all just get along?
    /cheers and good games
