¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This thread is about not only a taunt bug that I have found (not sure if you guys know about it) but also about me raging (xD) about how underused I think Taunt is.
THE BUG:
After alot of random taunts (will explain later) on players, I know as most people know that taunt no longer really is effective on stealthies, in that I can taunt a rogue but he will stealth moments later (
). HOWEVER: there is a bug currently, (saw it in early mists but didnt know if it was worth posting) that allows people to Taunt targets and have it apply like they are NPC's if they are in a Fear.

This is a close up to show that the taunt is actually applied to the player target.

This is the full image after the taunt, as you can see the target is a over pronounced red, as he is now 'aggroed' to me.
Here is about 8 seconds (roughly) after the taunt.

The target and I as you can see are a sort of orange, just as a npc would be if you where to attack them then have someoone else start aggroeing.
Why is this important?
If I where to cast this on a stealthy it would keep them in combat for an indefinite time (at least I think so), which would be massively OP, because that means warriors could begin kiting rogues casting thunderclap and waiting for cds without fear they will stealth and reopen on them.
Regardless of if it actually works or not its kind of funny to taunt a player as if they are a NPC
.
Why taunt is way underused:
There must be some Warriors Paladins and Druids that taunt during battlegrounds, but to be honest I haven't really seen any.
I personally taunt probably at least 20-30 times in a BG, for a variety of reasons.
For flag carrying it is awesome; you can taunt hunter pets to keep them aggroed to you and kill them to get quick Victory Rush's; they are the perfect targets because they have low health to start with, some hunters don't Mend their pets in combat, and most healers don't heal them because they either don't see them or don't care.
Taunting pets is also good for your healers. It may just be me but hunter pets seem to do alot of damage to most people, and also have some pretty OP abilities. So by taunting them off of your friend you can give him just a wee bit of room to cast his heals (or do whatever else he is doing), and a added bonus is that if you stay LoS'd from the hunter you can sometimes get him to cast a pet cd on you and not your healer, which is a total waste for them.
Taunting enemy players even if they are not feared; I do this alot, and it has a surprising rate of working (would estimate about 30% of the time). Ive taunted players when it is just me and a FC alone and we are being attacked by someone, and they have switched targets from our FC to me (xD). If you are also carrying the flag and Taunt someone they will sometimes stop attacking your healers and start focusing on you. You will just have to try it out because it makes no sense but it works sometimes on some people.
Also just remembered thanks to Crystalpall that Taunt does not incite a global cooldown... so Taunt away!
If you think I may have missed something interesting about taunt, leave it below and I will accredit you.
