Frost vs Arcane?

I would suggest frost. Focus CS, nova, poly, pet nova, snare. CC is absolutely game changing. CC is important these days since healers prove to be such a crucial role. For every second a healer is polymorphed for, it's as if he was actually dead.

at the end of the day, weigh other's opinions but always think for yourself and play what you want and whichever gear you want :) the game is about fun and it's boring to just copy someone else because its easier than thinking for one's self. Either spec is viable and fun. At that point play whichever you enjoy more :)

Why are CC's that arcane has aswell a reason to play frost?

You seems to forgot that you live in a country who play 3 moonkins every BG. So you can forget sheep and reroll Brewmonk.

I would advice you not to take Mocha's advices in this matter all too serious. I, myself have some Mage-experience from MoP (mainly f2p but also little 19). Just like Arkant said earlier; an Arcane Mage can almost do everything a Frost Mage can while still being able to bring out a shit ton more damage than a Frost Mage ever could dream of.

Sure, it could be fun to play as CC'er on D (IF, IFFFF) you are grouping with a solid FC and healer, but then again, a BM Monk would probably end up being a better CC'er in almost every aspect.. But yeah, if we all were to roll what's best it wouldn't be too much fun either, I'm guessing. :)

Frost is very well however it shines mostly when you have a kiting D if you ever get to D-O games. The 2 frost novas polyies and over all stam/resil stacking (if u chose to go that route) is amazing brewmaster is better as far as slowing but keeping people in place for a long time is a frost mages forte arcane is way better as far as dps goes, if your feeling a bit adventurous fire has no people playing it mostly because scorch is gone now but those insta pyros from a frost nova could be deadly if your willing to learn how to play it. Just my thoughts.

Arcane is far better no doubt. Mocha, once again, do you even play mage? Arcane can still polymorph, has Frostfire bolt, Frost Nova, and way more damage/burst. All you get from being frost is an extra Frost Nova and a slightly slower cast time for a slow.

Yes I play mage... does it even matter? People like to go arcane for the arcane barrage spam for the damage charts.

If you have ever even played arcane mage once, you will realize that arcane barrage spam doesn't do much damage.

FCs usually do not die because of melees that sit on them. FCs only die to melees when they charge them, come from stealth or happen to be ferals, this expansion is dominated by ranged DPS classes. Frost mages might get their time to shine in the next expansion.
