I noticed a few things playng a holy paladin...my heals are so strong, holy shock is critting ~1.2k hp(which is almost as lay on hands),FoL is roughly 750-800 with the battle fatigue debuff,WoG is 370-430 with 3 charges

Now thats is with my full intellect setup

I recently switched to a full stamina setup, replacing Uninsured Bracers - Item - World of Warcraft with Bracers of the Most Trusted - Item - World of Warcraft, Corpse Rompers - Item - World of Warcraft with Silver-Linked Footguards - Item - World of Warcraft, Shield of the Barrens - Item - World of Warcraft with Gold-Plated Buckler - Item - World of Warcraft

and 10 stam belt/3stam neck instead of brilliant/8 stam cloak instead of the elder. I am also thinking to ditch Boa shaman heirloom plate to burnished plate of might

My ideology is what "tanky" healers leave more room for mistakes, and if your stamina reaches 0 you die.Not if your mana pool reaches 0.So this way i can have a decent armor boost from mail armor, and stamina. Now,I am sure it has been thought before me,but I am just bringing it up now since mana pools are fixed and there is almost no point of stacking intellect unless you are going to denouce spam

The way I denounce spam is debuffing people so they cant crit, since usually we have a few good dps I premade with so thats no problem.I can see if the team has no dps and needs help then yes intellect is viable

With fixed mana pools, and my BoA hammer my heals are already very strong and sometimes you simply need a boost in armor/health say against 24 rogues (which really need a nerf at this level, say like fury warriors to the point were people cant play them)

Interesting theory but I don't know that the extra 1-200 health and armor will make a huge difference compared the the extra crit and +heals.

Not saying it's a bad idea but more that it may be negligable. Definitely worth looking into though. I may pop on my prot set with some boa mace and swap around a bit to see what I can get to.

Look into the Shield of Talrendis Point - Item - World of Warcraft I think it's worth losing 1 stam for. I think the uninsured bracers are better to for the same reason.

Quick testing:

1666 health vrs 1811 health

900ish Fol vrs 875ihs Fol

Still need Ghamoo-Ra's Bind - Item - World of Warcraft for max stam set though so it would be 1821 or if I could get the stam satchel belt and cloak it would be 1881. May be able to push right up to 1900ish with a bit more tweaking.

Seems worth messing around with, especially if I can get to 2k somehow without too much compromise.

ya I know hpally is semi god mode but 24s are god mode so extra survivablity is nice

Stam/resil > crit > int imo.

Use gloves of the hero/acquisition bracers, 7 crit/7 int is better than 2 stam and some armor. I'd also take shield of talrendis point over shield of the barrens. Like you said, holy shock crits are ridiculous, and you'll be getting them a lot if you sit around 20% crit. Silver-linked footguards are a solid option. I'd generally go with Merger Boots, but you can switch between them situationally. You'll get more mileage out of the shaman boa chest, I'd only use the tank plate if you need to FC and have another healer or two with you.

The extra armor helps, but a 45% chance to /lol back to full with holy shock will give you much better survivability in the long run. Balance them out as much as possible. Stam neck/cloak/belt with the standard crit stacked horde quest gear is the way to go, I'd say.

If you can get the damn stam cloak and belt to drop :( so many runs and no love for me.

You might be able to ditch gear in general as a Holy Pally, try that out
Mmm... I tried that before, not the best idea.

When MoP first hit (or pre-patch, whatever) and paladins were really really broken, I was running around nude. I think I had my shield and mace and that was it, even picked up the flag, think a rogue got me.

:p

It's hard to defend against a well timed euthenasia.

I'm pretty balanced between Stam, Armor, and INT, and Spirit, even though it's not needed, for those moments when in a long fight where you have to spam FoL on 3-4 people while simultaneously(spelled right on my first try lol) running from 2 Prot paladins and a rogue, that extra MP5 can go a long way. I still haven't gotten my AGM, so I'm sitting at around 1.5-1.6k HP. Anywho I think a stam set is a nice alternative. Unless Blizz suddenly makes Spirit a more desirable stat in the future... /sigh
