There will be a little wall of text before the interview is posted and I apologize for that. I feel a little back story is needed before I post the interview, explaining why it is being done here as opposed to twinking.net.
Before twinking.net got started, I was approached by Inkobah about being involved in the site. He wanted to start a whole new site seperate from TI because he was tired of the drama, didn't agree with the way things were being moderated, and thought that the site lacked a little transparancy amongst other things. I explained that I would love to help but my time would be limited as I have a family that takes up most of my time. OK he said. I wrote a blog and I had an idea for a blog (of which i wrote a rough draft about halfway through) about why I got into twinking. I mentioned this in the dashboard on Wordpress to share with the other members of the site. Meanwhile another blogger had written a very similar blog, of which I didn't know. However Drayner took it upon himself to take my idea and the other persons blog, turn it into his own and publish it without asking or saying a word to us. When confronted he immediately took down the article and stated that we could do a tied in article between the three of us or make a series of it. He wouldn't post it until we gave the OK. Deflated at that point the two of us bloggers who had our idea and material stolen from us decided to scrap the blogs altogether on the subject. Strike one.
Strike two comes when I write my article about AGM. Not many had know at the time about it being cross realm. In fact nobody had known that you coould create level ones on a second account and realm hop at that time in order to find a dead realm. This was before it was hotfixed. Drayner did know about this. He refused to allow my article to be published until he was done getting AGM for many many characters. He decided to put the information to his own selfish use rather than publish it for all you kind twinks to use. By the time it was published, the easy method was hotfixed. He had gotten what he needed out of it and screwed all of you out of that information and short window.
Strike three comes with this interview. In vent with multiple other bloggers from twinking.net the idea is proposed by someone to make January a spotlight month for twinks. We were brainstorming for ideas for who should be interviewed. The first person I mention is Dory. We all agreed. Dory would be a fantastic interview for the site. He was a polarizing figure, love him or hate him. He would bring more traffic to the site. I sit down and have the interview with Dory in vent. I transcribe the entire thing. The whole process takes a few hours. It's so god damn tedious. I was all set to put it up on Word Press tonight, when at work today I get a text saying the interview was being nixed. Eliot and Mocha, former moderators(remember the moderation Ink strogly disagreed with earlier in this post) bitched and whined to Ink and Drayner. They said that Dorygon ruined the 19 bracket. Drayner said if Ink published the interview that he would take the site off of his server that he hosts it on. All because Eliot and Mocha couldn't get past their personal feelings about Dory and be journalisticly objective for the good of twinking.net. They put themselves before they put the twink community and for that I'm sorry. So now we will post the interview.

S:Good evening Dory. I just want to start off by thanking you for taking time out of your busy GY farming schedule to do this interview with me for the site.
D:No problem at all. Anything for all my fans
S:It's been said that you are nothing but a Cata baby tinker. To set the record straight and provide some insight, when, where and what bracket did you get into twinking?
D:I originally got into twinking in early BC as a 39 resto Druid and played that for a long time. 39's was my bracket of choice throught Bc and Wrath. I did dabble a little bit in 19's and 49's, and then 39's died in Cata.19's was always a bracket that was looked down upon, being said it was a 3 button bracket.Every other bracket seemed to die in Cata, so I said fuck it I'm going to make a 19.
S:Why did you get into twinking?
D:It was mostly about the effort. I could make a twink and PvP which I enjoy most in WoW, or I could deal with the never ending grind of end game. I also like how there's much more of a community aspect. You aren't an anonymous person amongst thousands.
S:What brackets do you play the most?
D:Right now mainly 19's. I tried 24's but they were too faceroll even by my standards. I am in the process of making an 85, but that's a very slow process.
S:You obviously enjoy playing a warlock, is that your favorite class to play and why?
D:Yeah, it's my favorite 19 class.I started up in mid Cata. Really the only active warlock at the time was Sidni. Sidni's great and she does her thing, but alot of people in general had looked down at the class altogether. Alot of people even tried to discourage me from making one. I really enjoy it, and I think that I have been effective at it. I really enjoy the CC aspects of it, the ability to put out alot of damage and the ability to fear without a defensive dispel.
S:Why did you decide to join Waw Talent?
D:It's the best guild around. Still is. It's a little bit dormant right now though. There's always going to be haters. Even back in BC when I played in Cyclone 39's, I was in a Waw Talent-esque guild. I'm used to getting all the hate. I enjoy being in the spotlight. It doesn't bother me. When you are in a position like that you are going to have alot of fans as well as alot of haters.You're going to be a polarizing figure. I mean you are going to get people who are lost in the past who will just hate on you because of your guild tag. That's just part of it and it's something you have to deal with.
S:Well that brings me to my next question. Do you think some of the hate and detractors are justified?
D:Sure it's justified, to an extent. I mean, we farmed the hell out of the bracket. When the alliance side died we switched to alliance and farmed. We farmed both factions. I can see why alot of people wouldn't like us. That's just part of PvP. The way WSG is built, it rewards containing the graveyard. So really we took advantage of the Warsong map.
S:Where did the term GY containment come from?
D:It may have multiple sources. Some of our detractors think it's just a way for us to say farm the graveyard in a more polite manner.We aren't farming though. We just want to win the games as fast as possible. If the alliance tries to exit the graveyard that's on them. We are just containing them. It is up to them to intiate conflicts with us below the graveyard. That's just our spot where we like to be. if it leads to alliance fighting us so be it.
S:If you were to have a time machine and go back to any era of twinking you could, what bracket and time would you go to?
D:This is probably nostalgia speaking but just in terms of my memories would be BC era 39's. I mean pretty much all of us that play now that did then were aweful so I'm not so sure if it was the mechanics or the memories. But it's really what I enjoyed was back then.
S:When you get into a BG, who are your favorite people to play with/against?
D:Hmm. You are going to have to give me a moment on this (long pause). I like seeing Dirtyauction on the other side because he'll probably screw up while carrying the flag. On my team, really any guildmates, Minitonka,Arkant,Shamrock, and anyone who shows skill and is team oriented.
S:What is some advice that you would offer a new up and coming tinker?
D:It depends on class really but learning the map, know your class, and make focus macros that you paractice with. For any class that's the most important thing. Getting used to having multiple targets at once.
S:How do you feel MOP has affected twinks?
D:I feel like it's gone from one end of the spectrum to the other. In Cata it was a burst fest. Now as Kancer said "It's just a bunch of people healing each other while someone runs the flag" Theres alot of fun games, but you also get into games with 5 healers who are circle jerk flash healing each other. Meanwhile you are pouring damage into them and they remain topped off without losing any mana.I don't know if its any better or worse. I just know that it's different. For that I am grateful because Cata was getting kind of old.
S:Instead of living in the past, I like to look ahead. What excites you about the future of twinking?
D:What excites me is the new people that will come into the bracket. It's not only the mechanical class changes that make it different but also the personalities that come in. That's what keeps it exciting for me, the community.

It was a good interview but I mistook it for a comedy piece after reading that WT is still apparently the best guild around, heheh.
