Did you know Wizard of OZ was really an allegory about gold? Back then gold was the main currency instead of paper like it is today and they wrote WoZ supposedly to tell people to "stay on the yellowbrick road". What's a yellow brick? Gold. How is gold measured? Ounces. What is the abbreviation for ounces? OZ. wizard of OZ.

When you follow the yellowbrick road (stay on gold currency) everything is fine and how it's meant to be but when you leave the yellowbrick road things turn for the worse and starts going downhill seeing tougher and tougher challenges (making paper currency).

Just learned this yesterday in eng surprisingly and somewhere over the rainbow reminded me
