5.0.4 infused ordinary paladins with demon electricity, giving rise to a deadly OP style: the Never Ending Power Throwing Robot.
Stacking int, and backed by unending manna from heaven, "heal"-adins can rack up crucial support kills and apply DPS pressure anywhere within heal range, while maneuvering quickly and eating damage like a Practice Mode npc.
After the 40% resil boost, it's much more difficult to burst anyone down in a matter of moments, especially a geared healer. As a result, the commonplace insta-gib moments from pre-patch have become significantly fewer, and these days it's often only a danger from several enemies, rogue gangbang, or 24s. Also, with the reintroduction of DS giving pallies a true fight reset, I've found the Insignia to be distinctly less crucial in many combat situations, even for a non-human.
As such I've been running with as much int and crit as possible, because getting myself destroyed is a much rarer event in these strange times. By contrast, my proficiency with destroying others has become much more important, and it's often relevant to team success.
Based on the great potential of Denounce Forever, (and Holy Shock) I recommend de-emphasizing stam in holy paladins, and using things like
Girdle of Nobility - Item - World of Warcraft
Brilliant Necklace - Item - World of Warcraft
Mystical Pauldrons of Elements - Item - World of Warcraft
Discerning Eye of the Beast - Item - World of Warcraft
I'm becoming convinced that an int build expresses the best paladin potential in this present moment. Personally, I switch between Murder Mode (Mystical Pauldrons, Aurastone, and 2x Discerning Eye) and Durability (Lightforge-Blessed Hammer-Insignia) for high-pressure situations. For those of us who fanatically play paladins, this seems to be a rewarding course of action. For everyone else, I suggest straight-up Murder Mode, with however LITTLE resil you feel comfortable adding.
Thoughts?
