Balance Druids and Dotting

I know you guys like the ability to top charts, but please try to do so without religiously dotting every healer out there. CC is so key right now, and prime CCable healers are constantly running around with moonfire and/or sunfire ticking away on them. It is not like dots actually pressure healers now, so just do your teams a favor and focus your damage more effectively.

Looking at recount over a long time, those two spells make up a good 60-70% of their damage, depending on the druid - and when there are healers around, that damage goes to no purpose.
 
most classes with dots just kinda derp around with them, pretty depressing when a rogue suicides to 24s dot important people
 
Great post I agree and whatever but that pally that posted second has the best sig ever. Just needed to say that. Also it's a bit unfair to target moonkins in this because they have no cc ability accept roots and it's not like that stops spellcasting, but yeah they should know how to focus people and not just mindlessly dot everything.

Roots do break on damage, so it affects their CC as well.
 
This is pretty much a lost cause considering your intended audience happens to be a group of people (at least most of them) that lacks common sense, let alone any coordination.
 
dori, you and several aff-locks did pretty much same tactic as bal-druids are doing now. locks were tops of charts many games, out doing hunters due to popping dots on every player including healers. to wrack up the numbers many locks dotted pets...ones not even attacking yet. druids are doing that now too, a moonfire on a pet is a cheap cast

my priest was getting lock dots, and now it's druids dots

The difference was that dots actually had more effect on a game back then, in terms of pressuring healers and making healers spend mana. The focus is much greater on effective CC, now.

As for pets, this is about healers, lol. Dotting pets has nothing to do with this thread.
 
Druids ( specially alliance druid ) , do not listen to this non-sense. Dorigon is just trying to top the DPS chart and make you guys look bad. Keep dotting everything , specially me.

I do enjoy immune to polymorph and fear that breaks after 2 second cuz dmg taken.

So please keep dotting.
