When logging in the initial "Upgrade" ad was still for WotLK, but I was able to port my F2P to Dal.

Correct me if i am wrong, but this also means we can participate in the kalu'ak fishing derby. If i am not mistaken one of the rewards is the Dread pirate ring boa. Just throwin that out there with the other possibilites

so how do I get do you get to dalaran exactly? (I tried the zeppelin as horde and that did not work) but this was when 5.0.4 just came out, haven't tried like within the past week.

I found a path from Org. to Dalaran.

From org. use zip. to fly to Northern. The zip is in same tower as the zip. to Mulgore.

Then ran around looking for an elevator to take you to top where there is a flight master waiting for you. I found it inside the tower.

You can fly to Dalaran for 1 gold and 90 silver. See screen shot. View attachment 390

That's actually quite pricey, but may be necessary for some F2Ps.
