How are rogues doing now?

  • Hey all, how's it going? Haven't posted in a while and haven't jumped into pvp for probably just as long.

Logged on today and saw all the new changes. Kind of sucks that I can't use my titles that I worked for myself as a status thing anymore (due to the shared titles now), so that is a little disappointing. However, not so bad.

What really opened my eyes, were all the changes to the classes. I was wondering.. how are rogues holding up with the new changes in the 19's bracket?

I noticed subs lost out gap closer... both of them actually. We getting raped by range? Like the idea of the new talents to choose from. May go for the sub 3 seconds stealth after opening talent. Don't know yet.

Was just curious if we're doing alright, or getting kited to shit?Would do some testing now, but I don't have my keyboard and mouse (on laptop) so it'd be pointless.

Any gear changes? Strat changes? OP/UP? Other specs viable now besides Sub?

    Appreciate any info.

Roll engi and use bombs, crutch on speed pots, and roll with a dedicated slower and heals if possible. It's manageable

I prefer Nightstalker to Subterfuge because of the stealth speed it gives you though they both have their uses. Nightstalker just fits my play style better.

Gear hasn't changed all that much and strats are still in the developing stages. Rogues do sick damage which is a plus, but have no mobility to stay on target to do it which is a massive con. Try out all the specs for yourself, but I'm personally liking sub more than the other two right now.

We're where we're supposed to be, a little underpowered alone, but, in a 3 on 3 and larger fights, our damage can shine in any spec, i.e. ambushing/eviscerating an fc with 10 stacks, and 1 shotting the person next to them with blade flurry, among other things we couldn't do. In short, now that Sub isn't a no brainer, (though it is the most popular and the most bursty situationally) rogues are incredibly diverse, and a bit more challenging to play.

Engineering bombs are really expensive and I'm lazy...so I'd rather just keep my 3% crit. It's not like if we're gnomes and can insta-bomb anyways...

Rogues benefits much more from crit than they used to be, so yeah... I think herb/skinning would still be better.

But don't you think with all the crit gear were using we can replace skinning with eng?

If I was still playing my rogue, I would keep skinning and herbalism. However, this is a personal preference, both are good for different uses.
