Any word on pet faction conversions?

...so with the whole account-wide pet system, has anyone seen any word on any pet conversions? I'm specifically wondering about the Argent Squire w/ Pony, which would give me a portable bank/vendor. My retired Alliance main has it and it'd be pretty sweet to have the Horde version on my Horde. I can't see me spending a couple months getting my Horde DK to 70 and grinding out a ton of Seals for it though if its not converted.

edit: and on a similar note...I'm seriously considering rezzing my main for the X-53. It'll cost me a pretty penny, but it'll make a pretty sweet f2p mount....and it looks like it's the only passenger mount available to us {once MoP hits that is).

I tried to get an X-53 transferred but with no luck. It will be hard to do because it's tied to free game time with RaF as well. I probably wouldn't bother, it's clearly not intended for F2P.

I'm talking about when MoP hits. Mounts and pets will be BATTLENET account-wide. If the mount is on a retired main, and your f2p account is on your primary battlenet account, your f2p will get the mount. Blizz has already stated that the sharing will be battlenet account wide. The pet question is a bit different in that there'd be a faction conversion required and I'm not sure if that's been stated or not.

To clarify, in order to get the X-53 you need to recruit a new player who then has to buy the game and an additional month of game time. Total cost about $50 + added cost of resubbing your main. At this point the player who sent the invite receives the rocket and one month free game time.

You cannot send the RAF invite from a trial, nor could a trial receive the free game time.

If you recall, Thirk managed to use his social engineering skills to have a GM transfer the SoR wind rider. However this was a mistake by the GM and the decision was later reversed. It will be even harder with RAF because of the free game time. Even if you do manage to "trick" a GM, it is likely to be removed in the future.

Good luck if you decide to try, but I would recommend saving the $$.

Sorry didn't see your reply first. Didn't realize mounts will be shared b.net wide, and well I'll believe it when I see it.

I actually wouldn't need to resub my main. i can do it on my 10-day retry that's coming up. :)

i do remember Thirk's charade and I'm not considering anything like that.

...but yeah, about $50. Of all the non-standard f2p mounts out there (like TCG's), its probably actually the cheapest (and again the only passenger mount). ...although Invincible would be pretty darn sweet although I doubt i'd be able to farm that up even with 6 months of game time due to my playtime restrictions.

..and the spectral mounts will also probably be battle-net wide come MoP anyway (again with a question on the cross-faction conversion).

In MP there will be a level 20 panther that carries a passenger. Should probably be better than the rocket. It's pretty noisy. If you want the rocket, get it before MP. If you want the panther, get it after. If you want both, do both. On many servers, gold farmers sell RaF time and mount for gold. Scroll of res. Gold farmer. Won't cost you a cent.

As for the pets, it's very early days. I'd be surprised if 20s have access to the argent pet with horse. Some people in beta have said that it's not exactly account wide in that it's server specific and in some cases faction specific. We'll have to wait and see what goes live.

Just hopping in here real quick to make a quick note: My mount was only removed because I pissed off a GM by constantly spamming tickets to get a quest reward for the Ally eyepatch. After you have the mount you won't get it removed unless a GM gets on your case hard, like the one that was stalking me.

All this makes me wonder if when i put an US trial or a normal account on my EU bnet account, i seperated them, if i will get this stuff too for the US account. I guess its only a matter of time to see if things like this going to happen. So unpatient about this, they should have done it a long time ago :D

So back when WotLK was in development, Blizz came out and said that speed modifiers like the Whip would become consumables and the player would apply them directly to mounts. I went on the forums and said there's no way it was going to happen, because it just didn't make sense. It was weeks before the thread died because everyone and their slimy brother was busy bashing me for being an idiot for saying it wasn't going to happen after Blizz said it was. I never got around to rezzing the thread to say 'nahnah'.

You can sit there and argue it both ways, but I'm calling that Blizz (or the wee little part of Blizz that is making this call at the moment) is going to change its mind (or just be over-ridden by people higher in the food chain) and RAF mounts are going to be treated like most every other mount and be shared account-wide.

...guess we'll see.

I hope you're right.!
