Resistance in MoP

So, i was admiring my +6 resistance rings in my bank, on how i only lose 10AP and gain 10% less arcane damage taken etc when i replace one of my rings with it, when it suddenly dawned on me... what is going to happen to them in MoP?

Does anyone know D:?

Don't think that has been revealed yet. One possibility is that they could all turn into +resil, which would be cool. (Spellpen = PvP power). Another possibility is that they turn into flat x% reduction to magic school damage, but I don't think that is likely.

I am pretty sure that it will turn in to either PvP power or PvP defense.

That really depends on the amount of resil. If it's a direct 1:1 conversion, then yes, 6 resil rings will see some use. Will they be BiS? Probably not.

I doubt it, since those rings have relatively few stat points compared to some of the more top-notch rings.

With loads of resil and hopefully very little burst not only on the dps side, but healing side as well, supporting survivability will be more viable than stacking pure damage/healing... Compare these to stacking dodge back in bc... we all had 2x eluding on our rogues for survivability. I'm assuming once mop hits, if these are going to be converted to 4-6 resil, stacking these along with pvp boas and base line 30% could be very viable in several mid field scenarios.

At least we hope burst will be severely depreciated...

nothing on solo +resistance changes has been revealed other than racial resistances are all getting nerfed to 1% resist (insert racial) making them rather worthless imo. rings with single or dual resists could follow same line of changes

from what i have seen:

+# to all resist are becoming +# stats

spell pen/piercing is becoming PVP power

resilience is supposed to be change to PVP defense

attack/spell power on PVP gear is supposed to become PVP power

So basically all of your resist rings are being nerfed from +6 to +4. Resistance is still it's own stat at the moment although I'm sure this will change once pvp power/defense is implemented on the beta.
