Battle-net wide achievements, not account-wide

  • We were talking about this a little bit yesterday, but can't remember in what thread:

    from Zarhym:
For all intents and purposes, assume that the game doesn't really understand the concept of a WoW license. The account-level achievement system will all be based on the Battle.net account and not each individual WoW license attached to it.

This totally makes the Achievements Hall of Fame a bit moot.

I can only guess that we'd get the items in the mail, which blows as items like the Tabard of the Achiever can't be automatically added to a spellbook like pets could.

Hm this news makes me wonder even more :D If you have your f2p account on the same bnet account as your p2p you would get everything(?) It sounds to good to be true :p

Oh and btw, if items get destroyed in mail, would the restore tool not be working? I mean we can open mail from gm's, wouldn't this be the same?

Btw its a good thing for getting agm if the achiev gets shared bnet.

hmmm, that makes me wonder about all the other titles. Titles are only restricted by the achievements needed to get the titles. My little Druid may end up as a Hand of A'dal.
They have said you will need to be high enough to earn it, on multiple occasions sadly

This totally makes the Achievements Hall of Fame a bit moot.

There will be account and character specific achievements. It hardly makes chasing achievements on a specific character moot. At level 90, 300k damage in a BG will be done in a single GCD, if not a single shot. Getting it on a 19 will still be an achievement.

Which includes Guardian of Cenarius. While it's possible to get on a level 1, it certainly isn't a level approriate title. It also cheapens it just a little if you ask me. Just like The Noble and Ambassador. Welfare titles. I'm still waiting for the once promised Knight of Arathor and Silverwing Sentinel titles.

We'll just have to wait and see how this pans out.

I don't see how anyone would lose anything. It seems there will be character achievements, and account achievements. It's not like any achievements are going away. I think it will act in a similar way to guild achievements. Just another tab on the achievement menu.
