i played almost 30 AB's so far, only won 10...

With that being said, I play Horde for the most part, and make the most of every game. Win or lose.
I also don't queue for AB. I did the Conqueror grind long ago... Screw AB, it makes me go bald. So. much. infuriating. road. warrior. play.

i have a lot of skilled horde 24's on my realID, but i still solo queue most of the time.
simply because: it's more challenging that way.
Don't generalize, it makes you look a bit uneducated. Would I say this bracket is alliance dominated? back when f2p became permanent, heck yeah. Now I would say no, not at all.
Don't think to yourself "hey, my win ratio is terrible so therefore, everyone else's win ratio must be terrible on my side as well." This is mainly because unfortunately the majority of horde in this bracket don't seem to grasp the concept of defense, mostly they just assault a base and then go to another one and just leave the previous one unguarded which allows the alliance to recap.

100% dependent on the time of day you play.
It's the groups you run with
Having been in some of those games I think I can safely say that's the determining factor, I can't think of any time ya'll have been in with me for a loss. I wouldn't say that either faction "dominates," the proliferation of patch porting ally hunters does swing the ratio slightly in the alliance's favor but not all the time.
Except for in AB. I have given up queuing for that thing, I have no idea why horde consistently fails at it.
I think the bigger question here is why is your UI so ugly?
News flash: Generally speaking, Allies are not looking for a challenge. They look for the Horde graveyard and they do so with more ranged DPS and networked healers. Many Allies picked that faction because they have better gear. Not to mention this here website promoted a specific server for the allies and as such more experienced players are nested there.
Personally, I enjoy pugging alone as well but not exclusively. I believe it forces you to improvise and go outside the box. I never learned much by coasting in easy mode. By oneself you are completely dependent on the quality of the team you happened in with so make the most of it. Stretch individual aspects of your game and shift what a win means to you. Queue with 1 more, challenging but you can make a difference. Queue with 2 you can ninja wins from 5 man premades as the Allies get sloppy like anyone does who is having it easy game after game. Queue with 3, losses are infrequent and with 4 others losses are very, very rare.
I found the real reason why Horde loses AB. It has nothing to do with Alliance, crutch patches, Hunters, or the like.

Defense is always important, but if you are exerting no pressure you won't last (unless you have amazing D, which is rarely the case in PuGs, this isn't RBGs). It's also why having no O on the EFC in WSG is a bad thing. Gee willickers I wonder why we got swarmed by 9 enemy players.
If you have a handful of people continually harassing a base, EFC, what have you, people will be less inclined to leave, making your D so much easier. If you play SC, relate it to a handful of Mutas swooping in.
It's about control. You have it. Why give it up?

Here is one situation in which just defending was not an option, and the ability to apply pressure was game-breaking, to suppliment SallyG's statement regarding the importance of pressure.
I one time, alliance side, pugged AB and we were facing a horde team with a 5-man level 24 premade, while we had no level 24s. Besides that it was mostly pug vs pug with everyone else being level 20s (although horde had around 2-4 players that were sub-BIS, out of 20 players on both sides). Despite this disadvantage, alliance narrowly won (1600-1540) because we kept applying pressure (although mostly in a counter-offense sort of way whenever other side begins to push, or where ever defense was small), even when we had 3 or more nodes. That was because we knew our defenses, no matter how well coordinated we were, won't last at all against a offense sponsored by coordinated BIS level 24s.
Fortunately for us, the level 24s stuck together like glue for some reason, and their highly visible, glowing, special-looking mounts allowed us to see precisely where they were from as far as the other side of AB, and where they were heading, directly telling us where to apply pressure (if they were on lumber mill, some hunters can always quickly check from below or at other nodes with Eagle Eye). Whenever we lost a node, we gained a node where they neglected defense, barely maintaining lead, and our pressure was consistently on where those level 24s weren't, especially when they went offense. And if they were defending and we were deficit on nodes, we push where those level 24s weren't. And when we had lead, we kept pressure up to make up for the level 24 advantage horde-side, although mostly in a "when they attack, we counterattack where they're not" kind of way.
So, even if one side has better players, the ability to apply and maintain pressure can be game-breaking.

As others have stated, it's specificalylly Arathi Basin that is dominated by the alliance...probably because alliance has 10/15 night elf hunters, while horde has a more versatile composition (generally speaking) That's why I usually try to avoid Arathi Basin unless I have 5-10 other good 24s with me (not to mention the queue times are much worse than wsg) As wsg goes, Me and my groups honestly never lose, I'm probably 90% when I'm solo queueing on my rogue aswell. Like Kratos said, wsg gives a 24 the capability to carry his team if they aren't great. But the bracket is certainly not dominated by Alliance, can promise you that ;3
this + eyepatch advantage makes AB rarely won by Horde.
I tend to avoid it unless we make a 10+ ppl AB premade.
Another thing is that most of folks run around like headless chickens in bg's.
Its more or less fine in WSG, you can yell @ them to go and try to kill EFC but in AB things get complicated when u try to explain any of following:
- why capping base and immediately leaving is bad
- why there has to be @ least 1 person defending base
- why defenders need to report incoming BEFORE opposing team caps that base
- why we need to make constant pressure on opposing team bases
etc.
you have to agree that its much easier to spam "GROUP UP AND GO KILL EFC!!! IF THERE IS A HEALER WITH EFC, KILL HEALER FIRST!!!" then any of the above
I agree that both factions win WSG probably equally. I have characters on both sides and both have win ratios above 50%, but I only play heals so that makes a difference. In general it seems like Horde has more 24s and more healers and less geared players. As a healer I find playing Horde now a bit less frustrating since people there seem to appreciate heals and never rage about not having fort. Usually it feels like Horde lack either a good fc or dps.
As for AB, I think the Alliance winning has increased. When this bracket began, Alliance lost AB due to Spirestone and AP premades. Now Alliance only seem to lose AB to AP premades which aren't as frequent and achievement chasing. I think Horde wins AB less due to skilled players not queing it. I don't know how AB ever pops because no one I know ques it Horde side.

I hardly run into any skillful horde in AB. Hopeful may18 call to arms AB , Will bring out some horde
