Restoration Druids worthless?

Are Restoration Druids worthless?

Compared to Paladins, Shamans, and Priests?

I wouldn't consider them worthless.. They are by far the fastest moving class with shifts and make good FC's if you know how to shift effectively. They make good FC's and nice healers. And when times get rough when you're getting bursted you can always shift and run away. I personally prefer different healers but it is perfectly viable in the hands of a good player.

Druids are without a doubt the weakest F2P healers, that doesn't make them worthless though. I'd rather have a gimpy healer that knows how to play than a 700 hp s-keying mouth-breathing DPS.

Alright, thanks for input I keep running into this Restoration Druid who gets Top Healing frequently? If Druids are such bad healers how could this be possible?

The rest of the healers in those particular BGs are bad, or the resto druid is playing exceptionally well.

or there's only 1 dedicated healer, alliance paladins are typically not healers and priests/druids/shams are uncommon

They make wonderful off-healers, and can be a great help to their group. Get hit capped and they do some decent CC as well.

I love playing Root Machine on mine!

see, with resto druids they rely on their Healing Over Time! but they the healing sucks from it.

If you are going Resto, then I'd suggest you to gear as an FC. If you want to heal, then go boomkin. If you DoT spam every person who comes your way, Clearcasting will proc like a mad man; this way you can use regrowth frequiently and occasionally use rej. And at the same time, you are doing wonderful DPS and possibly topping the damage charts.

When I do AB, I obviously have a healing set but it's not very difficult for me to heal in Resto when I am running around with 21% crit. Still, compared to Holy Paladins, Shamans, and Priests; you are by far the weakest healer.

In my limited experience, resto Druid makes a hella healing intensive healer, you can't just sit back and cast a few spells, you have to help mitigate damage from your target with roots, definitely have to kite like a mad man, and you have thorns which is a GREAT weapon against melee... I think that the ability to stealth as a healer brings yet another great weapon in terms of utility... Like everyone has stated already, weakest healer of the four, but in my opinion, you shouldn't let that deter you from playing the class. It really is a lot of fun!!

w.e shau just wants more resto druids to pick on ):

I really like healing as a resto druid. No you can't just plant and heal like a disc priest, but the ability to move means you can get between healing targets much faster. When I'm not the fc I can stop, let our flag run ahead, help heal those staying to block pursuers and throw out some roots and still shift and make it back to the fc before they run into trouble without having to worry about leaving combat to mount. I couldn't do that on my disc priest.

It's a different kind of healing that is more about motion than being a stationary heal bot but it's not worthless by any means

Well... If you want great healing pick priest; if you want it good pick shaman; if you want it with good defense and dmg pick paladin. Druids have worst healing; although in my opinion still wins paladins healing. Rejuvination is great; it is basically renew. And druids have ok non-instant heals but what they lack is greatness of priests bubble and res shamans earth shield; both probably best lvl 20 "survival" skills.

so off base

Priests are the healing class you roll when you want to ignore your teammates while you spam smite

Paladins are the healing class you roll when you want to stand and healbot like no other or be incredibly mobile and yet still hard to kill

Shamans are the class you roll if you like healing surge, like REALLY like that spell

Druids are the healing class you roll if you're a hipster because they do not have as much mobility or healing output as the other healers (you aren't mobile if you are busy spamming regrowth so the hunter doesn't kill you)
