This is why I love dead servers.

My main server was that way, now there's always 2-3 human hunters there, then a few other trials. I just deleted my 19 lock cuse im never going to get agm, took a month break to find a whole new group of trials.

is that pm or am??

I think player demography has as much to do with it as population and i'm guessing it varies a bit more than you'd think server-to-server...keep in mind all the kiddies are freshly busy with back-to-school stuff and the big boys are at work.

I've had that happen a few times (latest being 6:45pm, when I was just positioning myself for a 3:00am check...when typically there's 4-5 toons at the arena at 6:00pm). Skywall is by no means a dead server (I think its officially medium population) though.

Looks like you've only been at it for 2 days. I'm guessing your luck won't hold out as the school year progresses. Try 3:00am Mon-Thur if your afternoon luck runs out..Of the 32 times I've tried @3:00am, I've looted 17 times (and yet never won a Gurubashi fight).

skill < showing up for the fight

True, up until Outland. Once the gear inflation starts, gear starts overtaking skill.

That said, back in LK when I was 79 (in the feral pvp blue set), I killed an 80 rogue in full epic pvp gear TWICE (got the opener both times) because he was unable to compensate for a Free Action Potion.

f2p thread

Been working on my 2nd AGM and just the other day I saw some dumb non combat pet sitting smack dab middle of battle ring and lvl ??(34) NE warrior shows himself and tries looting. 2k health I figure I might as well try right? So I loltrialhunterkite that punk and loot trinket without even popping AGM. Then I proceed to corpsecamp him. he tries to revive in some slick spot and begin a guild summon but i caught him on that and continue corpsecamping til his lvl 85 buddy shows up and 1-shots me. World PvP is great.

The problem is then that when you want to do achievements there's no one to help you. It's possible to get AGM, DMF trinket and win the fishing comp on a high population server, which mine is during peak times and weekends, you just get a few people to help you. Easy to meet people at Gurubashi or dueling outside Org or SW/GS. Having a turtle and titles helps, as does doing well in the duels.

Helps having an 85 on that server too. It's hard to meet people on AP Horde because, well, Horde AP sucks. There isn't even a RIVAL on Horde let alone the 10 Duelists that somehow rule the server Alliance side.

That's why I don't bother with AP anymore. Cotus and Goldendayz aren't on that much anymore, Cer is on and off. And those 3 players used to make up 90% of the good active player base. They're still good, they just aren't that active.

Pugging isn't that bad lately. I'd rather have a chance at BiS then play on a server with a bunch of people that are never online when I am anyway. (I work graveyard shifts)

Joining Aerie Peak as a F2P: You get to join a great community, win majority of your games through premades, and will be the quickest way to get BoA gear on horde.

Joining a Dead Server: You'll be able to get your AGM faster than you would on Aerie peak.

Pretty much that's what this thread is about.

Just a note tho, it doesn't have to be a low pop server. I had more competition for the trinket on the low pop server Dethecus than I did on Mal'Ganis, which reads as "high pop" every time I log in.

A good way to read how easy it will be to get a trink is to just run a level 5 toon straight to the arena and try a few passes at it. If the spawn is well covered and it looks like it will be too much trouble to get at least you didn't waste time gearing up a 20 and then finding out you weren't going to be getting your trink any time soon.
