XMog to match Chromaggus?

Alright so I finally took the time to go tame Chromaggus last night and am looking to find a set (doesn't have to be a full set) to closely match the coloring and skin of him. I don't care if it's a Hunter set or just mail lookalike skins of Shaman sets. For those who don't have him or haven't raided BWL he's very spikey with coloring of blue-purple-grey.



So far these are the 'sets' I'm thinking about and wanted some opinions, or if you know a few pcs that better match his look please reply.





Dragonstalker Armor - I have 4 pcs of this already, missing the shoulders though, but dayum it's hideous on Taurens.

Frostworn Bone Mail - Although this doesn't quite match the color or have tons of spikes, It's in spirit of it I think.

Merciless Gladiator's Pursuit - Reasonably spikey and somewhat matches the blue-grey portions of the pet.

Rutheless Gladiator's Pursuit - Certainly spikey and closely matches the purple on the pet.

Netherstalker Mail (Skettis Mail also) - I don't care for the helm/shoulders but the purple scales on the armor is appropriate.





What do you guys/gals think, or better, what have YOU done with Hunter matching pet XMog gear?

Yeah it was my original thought as I had some of the pcs already anyway, and that's what got me thinking about trying to match the pet in the first place. I just wish it wasn't so ugly on Tuarens lol. Any ideas on a somewhat matching bow? I have the Sunwell bow which is brown/yellow tones but nothing with purple-blueish.

Yup I have those 2 bows on my list, I'm gonna pick up a variety and see how closely they match in game as a SS is tough to tell, thanks.

i think the first i linked would be the coolest if all the graphics are working like they're supposed to.....but it might be too "far out there"/consortium like to fit with t2 (could go ok with t1 w/o rockdalor)

2nd bow is a lot more blue but at least you see the contrast in the wowhead pics since thats taken with a hunter in t2...not too bad overall, especially if you were a hunter with the same skintone (not that you are), but still not too shabby. there might be more purple bows out there. and my personal fav is still the x-bow from bwl (http://www.wowhead.com/item=19361), even tho it doesnt match color exactly i think it could fit quite nicely with the theme

Agreed that does match the theme very well, if only it was blueish purple lol.

Alright so I've decided on these so far, the gear set I think I'll keep but the staff is a placeholder for now, the bow however matches in game very well:



Dragonstalker Armor - As full as I can get the set (have 4 pcs now).

Drape of the Violet Tower - Cloak, matches T2 Hunter as perfectly as one can get (already bought it).

Brutal Gladiator's Longbow - Matches Chromaggus very well in color detail and it's spikey, may do a diff one later.

Brutal Gladiator's Staff - Again matches Chromaggus very well in color, but eventually I will get Kiril and have to find a Polearm that matches.
