So, I was really excited I was getting good internet in this third world village until I jinxed myself and started to lag a lot. My SpeedTest shows POINT eleven download speed and a record high POINT seventeen upload. 225 Ping. What's your lowest?

Yeah, in India currently helping through Doctors Without Borders. Obviously, I don't get my internet in the village itself, but maybe a little bit off. Long story short, most people here don't know what a computer is (or toilet paper for that matter).

Mine's 20/0.5 Mbps, and reaches that all the time with local, cached, or high capacity servers. Sounds good, except for the fact that latency to any WoW server is always 300ms or more because no matter how good the connection is, you can't get around distance. Pesky speed of light restrictions.
 
Actually most of the lag is down to Blizzard's poor network code, and the cheap-ass internet connections they've got their servers hooked up to. I got 90ms to BF2 servers in Dallas back when I was playing it. I get twice that as a minimum to WoW servers in Paris.
