Buying rumsey rum black label as F2P

Hi is it possible to get a high lvl to escort me into the instance so I can buy some Rum? I think I read that here somewhere? or is lvl 20 too low to enter?

Unfortunately level 20s are too low to enter the instance
<

However it can be fished up in pools around the cap of stranglethorn

Or as an alternative you can use this.

However you may only carry 3 at a time so use them sparingly.

It should also be noted that you can drink 1 halaani whiskey and purchase another one before accepting your BG que but beware of spawning back into halaa after the BG is over, it can often lead to deaths
<

If halaa is not controlled by your faction (required to purchase the whiskey) It is possible for a single f2p 20 to capture it but it does take some time

At various times I have left a lvl1 character at halaa. A lvl1 can just as easily retake halaa as any other lvl toon. I leave the toon logged at the bomb run and if we already have halaa i can use the toon to guild summon my twinks on my other account.

correct me if i'm wrong but, actually i think you purchase them in batches of 3. so you have to drink one, destroy the other 2, and then buy 3 more. something to think about from a gold perspective if you don't do random dungeons any more and are done with most of your quests.

we don't have guild summons...but i do have my alt parked in nagrand so i can just check to see who's in control. if we are, i run out and get a batch. if not, i don't bother. capturing takes about 1/2 an hour and if there's an opposing clown in the zone, he'll just sit in halaa so you can't gain control...and then the guards eventually respawn and you've blown 45 minutes. :/

I believe your correct in that they are bought in stacks of 3, however by shift clicking the stack you can separate them into a stack of two and one by it self

d'oh! ka rap

and to add an extra exclamation point...the other day not only did i do that, but then i didn't have enough gold to buy a stack of 3, so i sold a stack of 20 eternium thread...all at once, so i only got 10g for it...and then obviously i couldn't buy it back because it was over 10g.

Rumsey Dark (+10) can be fished in Sagefish Pools/Debris pools. Not BiS, but far easier to get. While we're at it, Lion Meat can be gotten in the barrens near X-roads/Ratchet.

There is lion meat in Southern Barrens below Vendetta Point, but the lions are level 32 and 33. They have a better drop rate of meat than the Hillsbrad cats, but are much slower to farm because of their level. I did farm some of them when I went down to farm the Frazzelcraz goblins for silk cloth.

I dont like grinding lion meat (hillsbrat = best spot/time). I changed to curiously tasty omelet

It's only 6 stam but you can grind tons of raptor eggs in the barrens near Ratchet in a very short time. I dont like grinding endless for +2 stam.

Cheers

Btw: Did anybody tried to be summoned by a p2p player into old hillsbrad? (i know that you cannot just walk in)

Funny how everybody is over the Lion Meat (pretty sure I remember dropping it from the Savannah Stalkers etc. but I'll check again) and ignoring the liquor. Ah well.

Raptors near X-roads is certainly an option, though for Alliance I'd advice http://www.wowhead.com/spell=6500 goblin deviled clams

and http://www.wowhead.com/spell=2549 seasoned wolf kabobs , both of which can be easily farmed on and near the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale (which region of course has plenty of other uses). Note that the kabobs are 3:2 so you'll stack up sooner and may even stumble upon a Rare or two.

On my original server I had an irl p2p friend, we tried to summon me everywhere conceivable, including old hillsbrad >.< It failed as did all the others

For entering Old Hillsbrad you have to do the pre quest. Even if it was possible to summon people to OHB you still wouldn't have entered if you didn't have done this quest wich is available at 68 or 69 if i can remember correctly.

True but this is not even half the places where you can find rum. You can go to the Blasted Lands, Swamp of Sorrows, Eastern and Western Plaguelands for the right wreckages and there are always some to fish from. If there are none in STV you certainly find wreckages in the other places.

Going in circles between these places you can stack up alot rums in your bank. Atleast i could ^^

Thanks for the info I didn't know

I'm to lazy to do it myself but I'm a knowledge hoarder

Technically speaking, nowadays you can enter Old Hillsbarad by LFD at 65, and then continue entering it so it seems the Quest requirement has been dropped.

However, you still need to be a minimum level to enter the Instance itself (on top of my head 61).
