SL gems seem to work the same
Baron sword and lifestealing still seem to be working somewhat, but not clear if they're doing much
Definitely much harder, so yeah i think if my TW gear is actually working against me now (im about 50 percent tw/50 percent gemmed bc) then its time finally to dump it for the slotted gear
3rd boss of freehold is tough (I'm testing all this solo, I'm sure still ez with actual group), first two were just slow but no real danger with SL gems

Bosses have about 30k hp for my 10 druid, and hit for about 300-350 dmg.You can also buy rustbolt rep if you were too lazy to farm ring rep before. Careful of the trash before KR last boss hits 7k

It's worth adding that since its BFA TW then BFA rep is increased 50%. This can be really useful for initial rep gains, like if you do the Mechagon intro, you normally got about 2000-2500 rep so that'll likely be 50% higher.

All that being said, if you're going for the good rings (ie the ones that take 7 Galvanic Oscillators) you'll be limited by GOs and CIs, not rep.

i did see a 11 warrior twink doing good in AD he only died once to the last bosses cleave thing but got bressed and killed it

on a bit of an off-note, gonna give blizzard begrudging props. I just did a run w/o any twinks/OP 80s...based on the exact wording of their notes I wouldve thought they turned bosses into annoying damage sponges that were now a pain and total slog for "typical" groups...but nope....they seem to have hit the mark they were aiming for mostly, with their weird patchwork bandaid for scaling

edit: bosses might have about 10 percent more health than they should...negligible

edit 2: oh and I tried to test on a toon I still had in BC TW, but the patch kicked me out....so we'll see about the other rotations

Hi, here my result after 2 dungeon

I still can take big pack of trash mob + boss, just they die slower than previous patch (like 3x more whirldwind to do)

it's still viable for me ;)

Something is really off with Feral, I went that spec as my druid is new and wanted some gear. This only seems to be affecting the last boss of each dungeon but, I basic melee attacked Harlon Sweet (I know he goes weak at the end) for 1500+, Swipe hit for 3.5k and Shred hit for exactly 8548. Bear in mind this is with ilevel 25 greens and a few heirlooms. Only 1 piece of level 60 gear from previous dungeon. In the previous dungeon I hit Volzith as follows - melee 3539 and Shred 9198. Can provide images of Details to confirm if required. (I do have the DF neck with gems in it). These listed values were normal hits, not crits.

Update: Didn't happen on Gorak Tul, normal damage there.

They scale off how much of your primary stat you have, so ATM (for TWing at least) you want to use neck, rings, trinkets, gems and enchants that don't have primary stats.
So this changes a few things and it depends on what kind of class you are. Unlike in Vanilla/Classic, things now are pretty standardized (ie boring) such that if an armor type can be used by a class, it'll have the primary stats for all specs of that class, specifically:
  • Plate: Str/Int
  • Mail: Agi/Int
  • Leather: Agi/Int
  • Cloth: Int
Now, as we know whatever your armor type is, you can use "lighter" armor if you want. So Plate Strength users have the most options because likely none of the other 3 armor types has STrength on it. That gives you a lot of options.

Also, even though stats are kinda normalized, they're sometimes not. So a level 11 TBC dungeon drop might be +4 Agi/Str/Int but sometimes it's +3 or +2. And there doesn't seem to be a reason why.

Lastly, on older gear secondary stats absolutely aren't normalized. Some items have none, some items have a ton.

Weapons are a little more interesting. There are a couple of interesting options. Shamans, for example, have some interesting options to reduce their Agi/Int, most notably https://www.wowhead.com/item=24461/hatebringer and https://www.wowhead.com/item=27986/crow-wing-reaper (20+, this one has Agi but not Int). There aren't good +Int weapons with 3 sockets so with wanting to reduce primary stats, these two weapons become far more tempting.

Another thought: TBC has some interesting set bonuses that shouldn't be slept on. Many legacy bonuses are inactive but not all, for example the Desolation bonus (eg https://www.wowhead.com/item=27528/gauntlets-of-desolation) is +17 Crit from a 2 set. That's a lot.

I've tried to find +Primary trinkets with Equip procs (rather than on-use) because I'm forgetful and lazy. We probably want secondary stat trinkets instead (equip or on-use). https://www.wowhead.com/item=28830/dragonspine-trophy has always been good stats for the level (30+). There will be others. TW trinkets tend to be fairly formulaic. But some stand out like the https://www.wowhead.com/item=136715/spiked-counterweight . Legion TW has been a good source for trinkets in general.

Rings/necks usually come in two varities: with and without Primary stat. Primary stat jewelry has lower secondary stats. You probably want the non-Primary versions and ideally the versions you can add 2-3 sockets to (3 to DF necks from DF JC, 2 to TWW seasonal rings/necks but you can only get the sockets from the AH below level 70).

We probably need to be more explicit in the (excellent) F2P Baseline Guide because there are a ton of single and double secondary stat gems. There are hundreds of Cata JC gems in particular. It's probably worth being explicit about the most likely and cheapest or easiest to get yourself.

I did a couple of runs now, and I'm definitely more squishy, and bosses take way longer, but I think lvl 11's are still viable. I still (just) top the damage charts on bosses, and melt through trash, which makes the runs overall faster.
I run relatively low strength (120), which may help if I understand the changes correctly.
edit: I run quite a few +2 str +2 secondary gems. Maybe it would be worth a try to swap those out with +3 secondary?

Tbh the scalling hing is what ever the issue I have with a lot of twing dungeons ( mostly the later xpac ones) are the random one shots from poorly scaled abilities. Being hit for like 700k by some random fluff damage aoe is annoying.

Another anomaly, this time on Arcane Mage. Reasonably geared this time but, nowhere near BIS. I 4-shot Rezan, 1 being 16100 arcane blast. Checked the auras present in Details too, nothing out of the ordinary.

I have similar arcanemage, give or take, and nearly same hp pool for Rezan - nothing even close for nuclear arcane blasts, just the same as for other current bosses.

Most bosses I get normal damage too, just getting these random boss fights very occasionally. No idea what is causing it.
