Hunter is not easy to play, please help

I dont want to h8 to hard on hunters because there are def long term hunter players out there and I don't want to crap on them for playing their favorite class when it just so happens to be a bit over the top. I wouldn't really find it fun to be crapped on all the time because my favorite class/spec is now broken thanks to blizzards whims and fancies. That said I will def poke fun at them here and there for a few cheap laughs.

@accel yeah I miss read that haha even so I am hyped for the buffs and a little not hyped for the nerf.

Let's just agree that if you play hunter right now you are just screwing up the bracket and are pretty much just a fucking clown. It's not even about some fugtard kid wanting to be the best... its just messing things up at this point.

Clown > Jump off roof onto oversized head > BM > MM > SV >

I'm playing BM hunter since 2008, I'm not gonna throw away all the great moments I had along friends and soloing things just because you refuse to accept the current reality. Putting all the hunters in the same boat is pure ignorance.

You can throw the nice personal touch of nostalgia on it all you want and it does not matter if you were playing since 1828. I do accept the current reality and I do still play... that does not make commenting about how simplistic it is and how it is fucking up the bracket any less valid.

I would agree in any other xpac, but here anybody can go get the bramble staff, get some bc gear and be as good as any other hunter with in 1% because of how powerful it is.

Maybe if by "good as any other hunter" you are judging purely by the dps totals. The massive burst isnt what makes surv so hard to deal with. It's ice trap, disengage, harpoon, feign, cheetah, turtle etc. They're going to have some sort of big CD up 9 times out of 10. What makes a "good" Surv is someone who can string all that shit together to effect game changing plays. That's why I havent gone to the trouble yet of farming staff on a new hunter... With the sentimentality I have in my old hunter it really doesnt NEED the twig

From a non-hunter standpoint, that is just insane bullshit. The damage is what matter's by far. Again, we are rarely dealing with arena, or anything organized... If I'm in a BG with my enhance and the game goes on long enough for me to do say 100k... there is easily a hunter in there that did 200k... every time... that is double.... DOUBLE... DUH-BUL.

Skill is a miniscule factor when you are doing double the damage of everybody else.

I will always stipulate that skill is a major factor when it matters... it does not always matter... seems to unfortunately annoy people... I'm sure they feel like it degrades their in game "accomplishments"... it 100% does.

On that note I'll step out... only thing that stops the addicts/excuses is for Blizzard to stop giving them the drug.

Your qualifier was "good as any other hunter" yet you compare to your shaman dps. If we are comparing hunter with hunter, dps isnt as important. Much more important is downing healers, flag carriers, capping or preventing node caps. In 2021 we're still hyperfocusing on dps here? My #1 advice for new players is worry about victory conditions rather than dps charts. People who spend their time talking being straight negative in bg chat and people who peek at the charts every 5 seconds bring teams down.

All the skill is being overshadowed completely by the damage. You don't even have to try. I get twinking is twinking, but at some point get some point... come on... do everybody a favor.

So what would you recommend for someone to play who has played a Hunter since Vanilla and enjoys BM Hunters the most? Do they just bail and roll another toon that they don't enjoy? Why should people give up a class they enjoy the most just because it's the OP class atm

Roll feral so you can try playing as the hunter's pet instead of the hunter. Basically the same thing

i think the conclusion is that hunter is an easy to play but hard-to-master class.

people like me (if i didn't make this thread) could take the moral high ground and say "ha, i am not playing a FOTM class because i am better than that" while deep-down knowing (or not knowing) that we wouldn't be capable of playing hunter at the level of our main classes such as hpal/disc priest/warrior (much easier to master) anyway.

After almost 10k kills, i could count the number of hunters that have made me feel inferior on one hand.

Implying healing classes are easy to master is pretty laughable (no offence). I can count on one hand the amount of healers playing that can effectively fake cast, and even fake cast with a positive success rate.

Might give me some backlash, but especially right now with the amount of cc available and kicks in the bracket, the skill ceiling for a dps class seems much lower.

Just spamming heals is one thing; effective positioning, mana management, healing under pressure, and juking interrupts is whole different ball game.

I do not often just dunk on people, but I think its pretty goofy to consider yourself to be someone that has mastered your main class when you intentionally play an off meta and poorly at your own playstyle. In every video I have seen of you you allow people to cap flags because you were not paying enough attention when THAT is your entire playstyle and supposed contribution to the game.

I think that there is a misconception that playing hunter is MORE complex because they have a greater number of meaningful cool downs and can have answers to more situations naturally built into their key board when in fact it is almost entirely the opposite. Hunters have so many tools that they can get outplayed twice and still overcome poor use of mechanics by hitting yet another button. In fact, that hunters have so many "get out of jail free" cards + the best damage in the game makes the difference between top hunters and just the average joe more difficult to discern not less. For a masterfully played hunter to make a real show of skill (that every other hunter could not do) they would have to go through so many cooldowns to make amazing outplays it would be silly. Hunter played poorly has the best dmg in the game, the best mobility in the game, and some of the best defensive CDs in the bracket.

Hopefully my next video will impress you a bit more then.

You sound like a scrub that farms the graveyard for the damage because you believe that’s all that’s important. Damn, you suck and wouldn’t be able to comprehend any other response.
