That's... the whole point of it being hipster?

Hipster =\= dogshit.

As mentioned, spriest is incredible in wargames as is ele and in no way is mw a bad healer. Kind of contradictory if I do say..?

Ok hf thinking rsham in any capacity is hipster lol.

Boy are you dense.
I know what you're saying, hipster =/= bad, which is true.

Have you played 20s at all in the past couple months? Resto shamans are played in disgusting abundance. playing a certain enchant doesn't all of a sudden make it hipster lmao.

That's like saying that Duhk the disc priest is hipster for playing with Mark of Shadowmoon instead of +9 int. He's still playing a disc, it's not hipster. You'll still be a restoration shaman just with unorthodox enchants, your spec isn't all of a sudden hipster because of that. And I'm the dense one? o_O

"Hipster" is a roughly defined measure of popularity and basically encompasses specs that arent considered FOTM. Their relative strength/weakness isnt a factor, merely their frequency of appearance.

Surv hunter is objectively super strong but wildly underplayed. Thus, hipster. Same with Spriest or demo lock, etc etc etc

In NA kind of. I'd say it's like inbetween, you see them around sometimes but I don't think I've ever seen more than 2 or 3 in one game.

Ah I see, just found a char sitting on my account with the signet of argus and LFH, figured id make it a feral, was hoping it was hipster for extra points :p

You see ferals about as often as you see ret pals I'd say.

Less often than rdruids but more often than frost mages and warlocks. :p

Meh any purpled out vet agility/int turd is not really hipster. The numbers can carry any sub par hack to 100k numbers. I get it you tweek your peen.

I think when this toilet topic was made, people were expecting to see holy paladin DPS, tank DPS, etc... not every other pickel dick kid posting how their survival hunter/feral they spent 3 mil on can do 100k... we know, numbers can carry anybody "no its my super skill!"... its not.

Hipster mostly refers to the volume in which the spec is played, it's power sometimes has an indirect effect on that (for example, sin rogue isn't that great so naturally there are less of them than there are outlaw rogue,) but it's power doesn't always directly impact the volume in which it's played. Look at a spec like destro lock, very strong (disgusting actually, yet nobody really plays it.

Please link me the survivals and ferals that have spent 3m on their 20s?

I'll repeat, its about frequency of use, not the strength of the class. There are some remarkably strong specs that seem to get overlooked. The purpose of this thread, i assume, was to encourage some variety in specs/classes because it gets exhausting queing into 3 arc mage/3 mm/ 2 rdruid/2 rsham teams.

So you show off how other specs are incredibly viable. So sure, show off your aggro HPal damage (please! I love the idea of just brawling in mid with an hpal) but dont get all testy that people are showing up with big feral or surv or destro numbers. Of course they are. Those specs are killer! Which is weird that they arent played more and so its good to show off and hopefully get people considering their strength. Thats the whole point!

I stipulate that I was more personally butt hurt that this was not an H-pal, Enhancement Shaman, Frost Mage thread... feral can do 100k, understood we have all known that for a year, probably my point more than anything. And we all know why its not played, if you are not rolling a pug its not as tasty as balance, the answer is that simple.

I think part of the problem is like... having a REALLY good game on a frost mage will still be a pretty mediocre damage output. The dont have a "enemies peeled off your FC" counter on the scoreboard. HPals dont get a "rogues pulled out of stealth" or "AB bases defended 1v6" counter.

So a thread like this tends to gravitate towards those "hipster" specs that are more like "sleepers" where they still pump but just a hair below their more popular counterparts. Because as you said, pulling 100k on feral isnt really unheard of.

But yes! more Hpal screenies! I've got a really poorly geared Hpal that I've bombed into a few BGs, just sort of goofing off and its really a lot of fun to play more like a ret. Dumb as hell, but just dumb enough to be a blast.

If you were referring to my ss, I am 100% guardian I dps in cat occasionally when enemy team isnt all piled on top of each other for me to thrash spam.

Nah i'm currently re-gearing my old feral, was just wondering how people view feral at this current time
