I disagree with a lot of these posts. Now I have never played in a competitive setting, but I know from 10k hks of experience on my monk that they are useful, fun, have good damage, and are extremely mobile.
Serpent kicking into a group of enemies, silencing them with blood elf passive, and getting a fists of fury off is very devastating in the right situation. With Touch of Karma I feel strong against almost every class in the gulch.
I think the best way to play a WW monk is with a decent health pool, tigers lust, and with colossus, DS, EF, or Windsong.
I'm almost always competing with top 5 dps. I really don't understand the hate...WW monk has so many uses in PuGs such as:
1. Killing enemy efcs (Monk's mobility allows them to catch up to travel form druids if used correctly)
2. FC: built tank a WW monk can survive quite a lot of damage output with Fortifying brew and ToK
3. Great skirmisher/mid fighter: can catch out players who make positioning mistakes very easily
4. FC defense: With tigers lust, fists of fury, and your slow from FSK you can create great peel for a FC who needs kiting.
I suggest trying out double thrash blades with EF on them, as that's what I used for quite some time. With tiger swipes you'll be proccing numbers like a madman!
