Worth leveling a 25 to a 29?

You will only gain from leveling to 29. Doesn't seem like you have any major items. So unless you have a huge heart for you old level 60. Leveling will only make your experience better in terms of PvP.

I have a 29 i locked yesterday but remembered about my druid so think il keep him 25 for now and play my new one, hoping to try fire mage, i know arcane op but fire was always more fun

Just make a new 29, dont level something already geared cuz if that gear becomes good again you'll be bummed.

You wont likely be farming any of that same stuff but it's good to have options on hand cuz stuff changes too much.

As far as gearing, right now you can just gear a 29 in the WotLK dungeons that drop epic loot... or go balls out and grind out epic upgrades from WoD dungeons for mastery or stuff like that. That could also change any day so up to you.

edit- the wep would be pretty good to get again, i think... right now epic is worth farming for.

But 29 might be dead again tomorrow so take everything with a grain of salt.

Didnt realise the wotlk dungeons were good, been doing wayrest manor for ring and trinket set and the balefire trinket.
Currently in wod, just got a blue armored elekk tusk, assume can do again for attempt at purple upgrade?
Dont mind doing a bit of grinding, gives something to do between dungeon queues

Been keeping an eye out for tempest talon but no dice so far, seen people use the dagger from priness whatsit (blade of eternal darkness) and blade of wizardry, assume they are all dependent on personal preference?

I'll stay out of the 25 v 29 debate as it's really a matter of personal preference.

But if you have flight form at 25? ... that's pretty special and you might really regret leveling.

Making your new 29 and keeping your druid at 25 sounds like the best of both worlds imo.

Right now on the beta they are excellent as epic items are much higher ilvl than blue in Dragonflight. Could change.

If the stats are good for you, that's the upside. Again, epic is better than rare again on the beta so that's the focal point. Blade of eternal darkness has a proc, so that's bonus... but only if you like the stats more than another weapon.

Plus it's not just all epics...... dungeon epics are best at the moment, i think. Quest and crafting are much lower ilvl.

If you are looking to gear a 29 for right now in Shadowlands, most BiS items are actually ilvl 37 Greens bought in the AH or farmed in Legion Zones.

However, if you are gearing for the upcoming expansion, you want Epic Items in every slot because they are tweaking ilvl’s soon and giving the rarity of the item a noticeable buff. Even the gap between Blue and Purp will be like 30 ilvl’s.

As stated above, the WoTLK dungeons have easy Epic pieces to obtain quickly but almost every piece has the secondary stats Haste/Crit… for almost every class in the game you want Vers/Crit, Vers/Haste, Mastery/Crit, Mastery/Haste, or Vers/Mastery. In order to obtain Epic items with one of those combos of secondary stats, you will want to farm WoD dungeons. The items in those dungeons are Rare but can proc Epic and with tert stats like Speed or Leech.

Interesting, i think il focus on getting epics for now. Been working on sets that still work, like spellfire, spellstrike etc.
But dungeon farming is nice to do between quest/rep/money grinding.

Dont suppose you know if anyone has made a list of gear for 29 mage or is just most gear from wod due to terr stat procs?

No one has made a public list for any classes that I have seen because nothing is officially and there is too much uncertainty. I don’t have any experience with mages myself so I don’t even know what secondary stats are priority tbh. I would start by getting a full set from WoTLK because you can do that in a day or two easy. It will take months of dedicated grinding to get a full set of epics with the right secondary stats from WoD dungeons, and much more time than that to get the right epics to proc with terts as well. It’s going to be one if the most difficult expansions ever to gear BiS. A little annoying but that much more rewarding for those who put in the work.
 
Thanks for this thread -- reminded me I had made a 60 twink back in TBC days! The account is pretty decked out, has warlord pvp gear, AQ gear, grandfathered enchants, flying mount, etc. Going to leave XP-off at level 25 and see how it goes ;)
