MC is solo easy, BWL is doable with 2x85's. the mats to get thunderfury drop like crazy, youll just need to be lucky and get the binding to drop.
as soon as the gates open after you kill first boss in BWL speed boost out them past second boss ands chass down those little http://www.wowhead.com/npc=13996 cause they have best chance to drop http://www.wowhead.com/item=18562 and there not many of them.

yeah some ppl have all the luck, my mate on his DK got left binding first MC run, but he still hasnt got the right lol.
PS - there a bug too on the http://www.wowhead.com/item=18562 you can only have 9 in your bags or bank at a time, youll have to make some bars up then farm the rest.

Not sure what bug you are talking about, maybe it was just an individual thing? I looted several more Elementium Ingots on my 60 Pally twink last reset, she has about 14 in her bag now and 12 Enchanted Elementium Bars...

Hopefully Blizz fixed it then, i know the bug was on during WOTLK, A mate and i used to farm http://www.wowhead.com/item=18562 but now its so easy to run and the market flooded with them, we havent really run BWL this patch cept to get lowbies the cheesment.
