New lore goodness for those who enjoy it. Like the thread title says, many spoilers, so turn away if this isnt your thing.
Last cinematic of 6.1
Grommash has been getting his ass kicked all across Draenor and finally retreats to Tanaan Jungle. This is the end of the legendary ring quest and our Garrison campaigns for 6.1. Khadgar has helped us create a powerful ring linking us to him, and vice versa. We've powered it with relics from the Ogre Empire, inside the last bastion of Orge civilization, Highmaul. It seems they have gotten their hands on titan technology, in the form of spell incantations. We further power our rings up with more items found inside Blackrock Foundry. It seems the Blackrock clan found titan technology, this time in the form of metalworking techniques.
At this point we have slaughtered 3 of the 5 Warlords of Draenor. Ner'zhul was defeated in Shadowmoon Burial Grounds, Kargath Bladefist was bested in Highmaul, and Blackhand was crushed in Blackrock Foundry, leaving only Kilrogg and Grommash still breathing. The Iron Horde is in shambles, and quickly falling apart. While all this was happening, Gul'dan who has been exiled from the rest of the orcs since just before WoD launched has been busy himself. Recruiting Cho'gall and Teron'gor (some of you may remember him in his death knight form from Black Temple, Teron Gorefiend) The 3 of them set out to collect other sources of power.
Teron is sent to Auchindoun to collect the souls of dead Draenei laid to rest there. (These souls act like batteries of some sort, typical fantasy stuff). Teron quickly betrays Gul'dan as soon as he gets a taste of their power, but is also quickly killed by adventuring heroes. Cho'gall was sent to Oshu'gun, the resting place of the Naaru in it's dark cycle in Nagrand. As with Teron, Cho'gall quickly betrays Gul'dan as soon as he begins siphoning power off of the Naaru. Gul'dan attempts to bring him in line only to be overpowered, he then decides to make his escape. Adventuring heroes drive off Chogall, who flees to Highmaul and currently unaccounted for apart from a brief cameo in that raid. Which brings us up to the present. Kiljaden is still riding Guldan, and now that the Iron Horde has been broken, Guldan steps in to again offer them the demon blood.
As you can see, apart from Grommash, the Iron Horde is desperate enough to accept this offer. It should be noted that last time( MU timeline) the blood came from Mannoroth, and resulted in blood red eyes, green skinned orcs. In fact, the blood in the WoD cinematic (AU timeline) is his. However, he was killed by Grommash. We do not know where this new demon blood came from. The fact that Kilrogg changes the way he does suggests it's from a different Legion demon altogether.
My predictions based on all the present information are:
1. Grommash and any other Iron Horde who turned down the demon blood team up with the Alliance, the Horde, and the Draenei to fight Gul'dan.
2. We fight the legion, most likely in the same raid Guldan is in. Possibly even Kil'jaeden himself, who is the one pulling the strings of Gul'dan, and the one who pulled the strings of the original MU orcs in the first place, all in an effort to genocide the Draenei.
3. This isn't based on anything but a gut feeling, but I believe Khadgar will die this expansion. The way his story is being built up, how it is highlighted over and over again that Gul'dan is his "greatest" enemy. I believe he will end up having to sacrifice himself to destroy Gul'dan, possibly powering our ring up with the last of his essence, turning it into legendary quality. Other possible scenarios his he outright dies, without guldan being harmed, and his spirit goes to either Auchindoun, or Oshu'gun. Both places where spirits are either placed purposely, or drawn to, in the latter case. To help us from beyond the grave as it were. Time will tell.
Anyhow, that's me for now. I'm interested in hearing what you guys think. Any speculations or opinions are welcome. I love kicking around theories and ideas with other folks. If anyone is having trouble keeping up with all the character names, and places, I can add in hyperlinks later to everything. Just realized after reading all that I wrote there's quite a bit here, lol. Plus it's a bit convoluted already with Main and Alternate Universes added too the mix. Lemme know!
