First of all: don't get me wrong, this isn't a personal attack to anyone who got some achievements lately by wintrading. I think it sad, but that has nothing to do with this post. I'd like to go beyond that point and want to discuss it's effect. I'm not interested in a Sparklystars versus Vapriest fight either. They can discuss their drama elsewhere.
Those who got their achievements, mostly the RBG-ones, probably even use it as title as they know it's one of the hardest achievements out there. They know it will peal people's interest and gets them attention. They got it by an entire night of fighting noone: keep queueing and get free points. Sad part is that they're not the only ones out there. A big bunch of people at Frostwhisper horde have it - together with some Germans, an even bigger group around RNG Gaming got it aswell and after that some randoms and Germans from Destromath got their titles aswell. Let's say it's around 35+ people already who got it this week.
Doing it, queueing and fighting noone, has been discussed a lot already. It's been frowned upon in general, but people seem to be at the point of 'who cares' nowadays. It's not a secret that it's been wintraded either. People like Sparklystars, Razzerz, Sponzorusa, Cyanerd, etc etc openly admit they got their titles by wintrading. Mostly because they know it's kinda impossible to get by legit ways.
Let's say them, I'll exclude Razzerz and Sponzorusa at this point and include players like Yow, are like Europe's core players of the 70 scene. I'm not saying 'best', but core. After the core there's the big 'rest' coming in: all the players with their 2k/2.2k achievements who're not as wellknown as the previous mentioned players. They know the RBG-titles which are currently achieved by some of the core players are not legit; they know people don't care about it anymore that they were achieved on this way. They know people won't frown upon them if they would get it themselves either, because people just don't seem to care anymore.
The countereffect of all of this is that people will do so. Pretty soon a lot of people who're not even known to be skilled - take Sponzorusa for example - will walk around with a R14 title. Since RealID is here, it's pretty easy to form raidgroups now and even more easy if people know it will give free points and noone seems to care anymore if they do so. What's left then? The problem is there's nothing to achieve anymore. Nothing to look up to anymore. People won't care about your or theirachievements, as even so-called scrubs will walk around with 2.2k wintraded titles, R14 wintraded titles, etc. Why get it legit when noone seems to care if you would've gotten it wintraded?
I'm just afraid it will make our bracket uninterested to play in.
