Why so much hate on Twinks?

I've been trolling forums lately (besides these) and their seems to be a great deal of joy over the 3.1 enchant nerfs. The common argument seems to be either, Twinks are for unskilled children who cannot cut it at 80, or twinks ruin BGs for new players and people preferring to stop leveling and PvP at the top of a bracket.

Does this make sense to anyone? I'm probably asking in the wrong place for unbiased answers but I want to know.

1. I know from personal experience that low level PvP is like anything else, some good and a whole lot of bad. There are the top skilled players, and the people who maybe aren't so good. This is true of every level of PvE or PvP. If anyone on here has an 80 and PvPs, and I'm sure a few do, a DK with a lucky Betrayer drop can and will kill a good player, regardless of his skill. There isn't as much of a glaring example as that in low level PvP, the gear is relatively easy to get and everyones welcome to it.

2. What person that is brand new to the game PvPs at level 19 etc? When I first bought the game, I wanted 60 asap and that was without friends encouraging me. I don't remember the last time I met a new player who didn't have friends, I think they'd pressure him to level and not waste time. I doubt many players have been turned away from WoW by a WSG stomping at 25.

I myself was very glad for the enchant removals, as it makes twinking more easily accessible. I feel for the people who put the effort in to get those enchants (especially Naxx etc.) but I'd say it's a positive overall. I'm hoping this leads to more people twinking, lower que times and more competition.

Sorry for the rant, just been pissing me off that people are so mad over something so little when their are much bigger game problems.

Love the avatar BTW, Emo.

I have noticed for a long time that people hate twinks and they really don't have a good argument other than "My low level tried to PVP and got pwn'd by a twink." I am sorry you had to deal with that, but your really only walking through. But you need to twink to win; "My level 80 main tried to PVP and got pwn'd by a twinked out 80."

People twink at lower levels because there really isn't much to worry about at these lower levels. Not many new spells are given to lower levels, same goes for items, so once you learn your spells and grab your gear your set. (No worry of your items being rotated out and needing to grind mindlessly for new gear) People do bring twinking to a 'Hole-Nudu-Leval'. For instance, a level 19 Druid that stacks Stam and ends up getting 12k HP in Bear Form or a level 14 who stacks Agi and Crit to abuse the stat scaling mechanics of WoW; but there is nothing wrong with that, people do this at 80 also (ie. Druid Tanks at endgame or stacking whatever stat you may need to do top damage or get the most out of your crits)

The only difference between a max level character and a low level twink:

A. Low levels have fewer spells/abilities

B. The item skins at endgame look AMAZING

Other than that, there really is no other difference. (well, twinks don't really PVE while max levels do ... but that's different) The point of WoW is to twink out, you want to have the best of the best gear to be the best of the best player. So should I cry on the forums and say:

"I got pwn'd by an epic'd out <CLASS>, I am wearing green and white unenchanted items. NERF people who are in epics to be balanced with players like me!"

Of course not, if I am not willing to get better gear I have no room to talk. If your leveling a low level I advice against entering into a BG. (IDK why; your so zealously focused on leveling, why waste time?)

Their logic is flawed; they hate twinking, yet they twink themselves. (albeit, at a higher level)

don't care.

look, some random 80 is spewing hate on twinks. big deal. it won't change twinking at all. so i don't give a fuck. i know what twinking is about, and i know why i play. that's all that matters.

i'd rant on about this subject but the answer is that simple.

I'll tell you a quick story about how I hated twinks, then ended up twinking myself.

As a total newbie to PvP, I walked into a battleground at 36 and got destroyed. I mean, one-shotted by a 39? How was that even possible? Leveled up to 39, got some good enchants, tried again. Two-shotted this time. How the heck does someone the same level as me two-shot me?

I was pissed off, and I plotted my revenge. I'd do my research, and twink out a healer -- that'll show them! There were never any healers in the battlegrounds, and I was betting no one would see that coming. And that's how I discovered the twink community.

Here we are, one year later, and it's been a blast. Sure, you have bully twinks who make a bad name for the rest of us by acting obnoxiously, and plenty of people who think if you don't choose their gearset, you're an idiot. But enough people in the twink community have a strong passion for pushing this game to its limits, and I've enjoyed being a part of that.

And I still enjoy watching a 24 walk onto a battleground, clearly have no idea what's going on, and an enemy twink rogue comes in for a cheap kill. Then, POOF, the 24's fully healed. The rogue tries again. POOF! Fully healed. Cracks me up every time. The 24 still may not understand what's going on, but they'll catch on, and in the meantime, the rogue's in for a real fight.

"B. The item skins at endgame look AMAZING"

Id argue that many of the skins at endgame look totally retarded.
