Where to begin?

Hey Folks,

It's been a long time for me and I am wondering where to start. The squish has thrown me off massively and logging into the game and seeing all the different versions is a bit overwhelming. I am happy to restart, is classic more active now? If I was to start a fresh toon for 19 bracket, what wow version do I do, what realm etc and how are the pops? thanks in advance

As far as picking a version goes, I can't tell you what's popping more, but for PVE retail is better by a mile, way more options. Unfortunately, pvp in retail has been mostly dead since a change back in Dragonflight merged 20s with 29s. I'm a PVE focused collector, so I'm out of touch with the modern pvp scene. Others on here can help you more there.
