What's the best profession to use with a f2p account?

Hi peeps, great community you have here- first post. So of course with all the limitations placed on starter editions aimed at keeping us out of the WOW economy, the question of which profession to choose becomes quite different. Gold not being a factor any further, and considering the 100 skill level cap and level restrictions for profession abilities, which profession offers us the greatest benefits?
Probably the focus for a lot of people here would be to become as good at pvp as possible, so I primarily ask this question looking at it from this perspective, but I'm curious to hear about any and all of your best liked profession perks- please feel free to add any thoughts you have.

This always depends on what class you are and keep in mind that you can just unlearn and go for another profession to get armor kits, enchantments etc.

In the end I think every class should have herbalism for the insta heal + haste. The 2nd profession is up to you, skinning for crit, alchemy for swiftness potion + extra effect on flask buffs or engineering for goggles.

Though we are f2p we can take advantage of pretty much all professions

Some are useful for mostly PvP, such as:

Skinning>75 gives 3 crit rating

Mining>75 gives 3 stam

Engineering @ 100 gives Flying Tiger Goggles and bombs, etc.

Alchemy @ 100 gives Swiftness Potion - Spell - World of Warcraft and the Mixology perk which increases the effect of a variety of elixirs (such as Elixir of Minor Fortitude - Spell - World of Warcraft)

Herbalism>75 gives the first rank of Lifeblood, giving 5 haste rating and healing you for a small amount

Leatherworking @ 100 allows you to craft the +16 armor kits (best armor kits obtainable and used on gloves, legs, and boots due to lack of enchants available)

Enchanting @ 100 gives +3 int to 2h, +1 weap damage to 1h, +2 weap damage to 2h, +15 health to chest, +1 stam to bracers, and +1 all resist to cloak

Cooking can provide Savory Deviate Delights (pirate/ninja costume) along with the recipe for lion meat (+8 stam/spirit)

Fishing doesn't exactly have any perks that go with it directly, but it is used to do the fishing dailies and for fishing for Lucky Fishing Hat

Jewelcrafting @ 75 allows you to craft Brilliant Necklace - Item - World of Warcraft along with Thick Bronze Necklace - Item - World of Warcraft

There are more, those are just what come to mind at the moment. Mostly it is about planning and doing the professions in the right order as to not screw yourself later, for example starting out with skinning/leatherworking to get the +16 armor and then dropping that to get the jewelcrafting necks and at the end doing enchanting/engineering.

Alchemy + Herbalism. /end threat.

The pinochet article does a good job of listing everything for each prof, but could do a better job of weighing the options.

it boils down to deciding if you want to keep alchemy or engineering. the second prof you can change on the fly.

I always start with enchanting and skinning.

Enchanting I start off with so I can DE greens that I'm getting and can't wear or DE greens that I'm replacing. While my skill is still low I greed on every green in dungeon groups because DEing for the group does not yield a skill point. I keep enchanting all the way until I'm ready to level up the profession that I want. I can DE rings from JC and products from the armor crafting professions as well. On my shaman I DE'd so many things I got to 60 in enchanting just from DE.

That covers it all except that you can also get Elixir of Giant Growth - Item - World of Warcraft (13 strength instead of 8 with the mixology perk). Perfect for warriors and paladins.
