Im sure some others have made the same mistake and used the gear upgrade feature on their lvl 20 f2p twink. The gear you have equipped is mailed to you and since you are ona f2p, you cant retrieve it.
update: GM was able to give me a 1 day free play time. I took the opportunity to mail over enchants and gems :)

I assume you are a vet and not pure F2P ? Never heard of starter edition account getting free game time.

Glad you sorted it out. Should always test new Blizzard features on an alt, because yes, Blizzard almost always chooses to do things incorrectly

It's fine for unused or not yet grind out F2P 20s because is pops up bigger bags, nice starting gear update and yes sends whatever you were using to mailbox, but it's always useful to have at least one or more dups of key enchants (several scrolls of Minor Speed or ilvl 47 feet etc) or other key items in bank.

Hazeman lost his f2p acc back in 2018 or 2019 to a GM giving him gametime when he tried to retrieve Ratstallion.

@OldBranch Did you actually ground out the Light-Step Hoofplates on FTP? It needs BFA enchant 155 which in my calculation demands 40K+ cloth alone to DE.
I recommend only doing the easy points, then let DMF prof quest carry you to higher skills.

If you have got one day free once, you can't get another again :(

I clicked a level 18 who hadn't been played for a while and was displaying that "gear upgrade" tag. They wanted to deduct 280k gold for me to resub, or I would lose the upgrade. It felt like they were holding it for one heck of a steep ransom.

Trust me, i spent months on that thing. :Sadge:
Overall i worked on it by keeping my enchanting and then rotating the other prof. slot.
I got epics from jewelcrafting, then grinded blues through blacksmithing, untill i realised it was more efficient for me to grind an off-hand from inscription instead.
Didn't find cloth drops for tailoring to be reliable.

I found farming Free Hold (not dungeon) gives decent cloth drop with tailoring, about 300/hour. That means 100+ hours non-stop farming.
