Aight so I have some mixed feeling and opinions on a certain aspect of locks (Especially Destruction), I always dipped everything in Mastery stat, like every single armor piece and trinket had Mastery related effect. Leaving the rest of the stats like versitility and crit strike below 10% (maybe a little of haste too but its like 20%-ish). Is that good enough to deal high damage or do I have to balance all stats in a homogeneous degree to actually dish more damage? Would like to know some people's thoughts about it, and feel free to point out any flaws or problems so I can improve/fix anything.
Also here's my character for reference (and yes i dont have socket gear yet im working on it please dont flame me)

Obligatory TLDR: Go full Mastery 100%? or balance other stats too?

OP - its gonna hurt missing out on 42 intellect from not having gem slots :(

I'd consider this guy about 85% twinked out and is very fun to play, since it was just an AH feverflare cash grab made in 2 minutes.

Targets running out of range or targets dying to your teammates before you cast is 100% the bane of any Destro... Haste fixes it.

Your video montage edited highlight reel won't be as cool without CRIT, but your overall game play experience/fun will be better 90% of the time. 1 second Immolate and 1.2 second fear is also nothing to laugh at.

EDIT: If I ever resub Deathhead, I would get engineering goggles for +Haste+Mastery, fix one of my ring enchants. Not really sure what else I would do... I thought about elemental force instead of spell power since I cast Immolate non stop with a macro... and losing spell power would effect chaosbolt and Soulfire almost zero. Then again these changes would effect performance by 1% or less :p.

I don’t want to sound like groupthink here, but definitely agree with the above posters. Haste should be part of your Destro PvP stat priority, right behind Mastery. Don’t stack 100% Mastery. I originally geared without much Haste and adding it really has been a QoL improvement in PvP.

For PvE, if you’re into the soloing thing, I found @Dragynslayer’s advice to have Crit (along with the pet-buffing stats) a good one. Haste is last in my PvE mix.

Been trying to find some folks to group up with to clear TBC dungeons, so far found no one. Im guessing its better to farm BOEs. Is the Imp area in Val'sharrah a go to place or are there better areas to farm peerless gear?

Making videos isnt really my aim nor my intentions, just wanted a heads up on what is better and just survive better in pvp instead of being at the top charts for dying 50 times per second.

Claim to be 85% twinked out yet not a single piece of tert socket gear...maybe i49 weapon or something? (not showing a weapon)

Tert's help very little in the meta... Speed is only good in certain builds (yours) where you specifically are trying to run away from a fight... leech does almost nothing in the glass cannon meta... avoidance is trash. I get that you are trying to prove a point, but it's pointless. Tert's also don't do shit outside of pugs. The weapon is the i34 2 part which I can see when I click.

I would EASILY consider any full socketed BiS twink (outside of terts) 99% twinked out (BC gem gear/quest/i28 or other)... terts would add the last 1%... in any situation. I might deduct a few percentage points if their gear was obviously just a mish mash of stats that they were trying to pull off as "BiS". the i49 is just icing... because if you factored it in, it would easily be 20% of the twink equation.. if not more (which we won't).

If we were in a different meta without i49s and the HUGE GAP in power levels, I would give terts a higher number than 1% when it comes to twink power.

Full leech is nuts if u r landing big chaos bolts and sf (if we talk about locks). Hunters with lots of leech are good too.

Is it really tho?... sure you heal up... but when a Destro dies its because you get silenced/stunned and then killed in seconds... leech does zero there. I'm sure it made a difference that one time with that one dude.

I heal myself for 170-220+ from every cb or 250-500 from sf and it's a good way to boost ur lifespan. My average healing in 100+k damage games even without using drain life is 18-20k+ and ~40% of it is healing from leech. Also you get good healing in big fights when multidotting via immolate.
upd: leech will be even more viable in 9.1after cb damage buff in pvp :)

I think leech as a stat being good depends entirely on the player. If the players knows what hes doing and spreads alot of dot spells on every enemy he faces while keeping up with CDs, yeah leech might be a great asset. However with my capabilities, think it wont do much since I cant multitask, hell I cant keep up with the affliction dot rotations on one target let alone spam Immolate on more than 2+ targets.

what even is the cast time on incinerate 2/0? I would aim to get that down to at least 1.7 in bgs personally.

-Mast-crit for big cb (in 9.1 even bigger).
-20-30% hast-mast for faster casts and more mobility but much less damage.
-Mast-vers 50/50 for higher damage overall and higher lifespan if you have someone to heal your ass. Im not using this setup nowadays a lot cuz i got much leech gear but it is nice to have ~9-10% reduction at bg from vers and iirc 6% from mastery (and it also can proc to x2 reduction) + you can use unending resolve and pvp dmg reduction pot and become almost invincible for short amount of time.
I have smth like 100+ items and ~50 of them are with speed/leech terts so i can use lots of different setups but there are 3 i prefer more than others as destro: 1) 20-25% crit 20-25% haste 78% mastery and 16%+ leech or 135% ms 2) 27% vers 77% mast - mainstats, i dont care about others. 3) 20% haste 16-18% vers 73% mast (mixed with some speed gear up to 127% ms).

Hey guys,

At the start of SL I made an alliance lock with a focus on feverflare and int + haste gems for both Affliction & Destro. Now that I am remaking all classes on Horde I would like to change it up and go for max CB damage.

In terms of gear I'm trying to obtain of the savant(barely ever on AH it seems) or peerless. What kind of gems would be better for maximizing CB damage? 3 int or 2 int + 2 crit. From some quick calculations it's leaning towards the mixed gems over the pure int, but somehow it feels very counter intuitive to me.

Would love to hear what you guys are useing or have found out!

p.s. A balanced amount of haste (20%+) is probably the more competitive choice, but bigger bolts seems like a more fun thing to try and aim for!

300 int + 120 Vers = leet chaosbolts and one hell of a soulfire.

Tbh this cb damage isnt even close to be "high". IMHO, Soulfire is really good but stacking fullint just to do big sf when you can balance all your damage by stacking other stats is kinda meh.
I cant understand - is it f2p char or vet? If f2p then i think its fine to stack tbc int gear, if it is vet - there are much better options.

f2p warlock

yes 1337 was a low chaosbolt. "but so very leet "

I have hundreds of screenshots to prove A mastery build isn't any better.
The fact your paying for multiple accounts and buy all your gear is nothing to brag about.

The goal was to Help Magrain's f2p warlock and instead you tell him he needs the full ilvl 28 in order to do damage.
I simply gave him the better f2p option and proof of damage.
where is your 5800 chaosbolt?
