Crikey. Fair play for getting that sort of money for that char. Single chars with a nice title and some grandfathered stuff fetches this sort of cash? I might sell some of my spare chars if thats the case :p

Scarab Lord, Not just a random FoS.

Apart from Thori'dal/old school pvp title/Murky, the char isn`t even BiS. Two poor geared random alts? How much would this account go for without the Scarab Lord title? That is the true question. Especially considering some people got it way after vanilla, I know several on my own server that got it that way. So it`s not even that ultra rare as before.

This is in no way a flame, I am just trying to get an idea of how much premium people are willing to pay for titles, etc..? Ask yourself; "Would I pay five or six times the normal amount for one title"?

I query as I have chars with old school titles and some rare vanity items, if people are paying this sort of amount I would probably let them go ;)

Murky goes for 2,000-3,000$

Old School Ride

Scarab Lord

R10 PvP title

Yes, these things WILL add up to about 1,000$+ for the character

If this is the case, I`m laughing. Is there any way to split chars on an account and go about selling them? I have some old school chars I`d be willing to let go, but not all chars on those specific accounts.

I'd be surprised if you have vanity to the extent that the hunter has, but I'll answer your question anyways.

Yes there is, if you want to make new accounts for the characters you're going to sell and transfer them TO the new account, you can sell them individually.

Okay I gathered that was the case. Thing is I have 4 accounts on one Battle.Net account, how does one go about seperating chars off this as they are all linked aren`t they?

If it`s not cool hijacking the thread, please mail me to discuss. Cheers.

Stupidest among stupid.

Oh dear, you seem to not be aware that you could transfer to new servers that never had the AQ gates open and get this title then move back to your own server? Most of the Scarab Lords you see now did it this way, very few were original from the vanilla gate opening.

That`s what I`m guessing you mean`t by calling me stupid, but hey, I will reserve judgement till you clear the facts up :)

Since you're completly stupid let me show you my point.

There is 241 Servers in US. Which means at Max, there is only 241 players with this title. Which makes it one of the rarest title. It is true that this is still available, but the amount of player that will transfer to get this title is massive and so your chance on getting the title this day is extremely (EXTREMELY) Low. Vanity title is something, but a title that is reserved to an extrmely small mount of player is way better. You know, Private/Grunt title doesn't worth much, yet they are interesting and boost by a small amount the value of an account just because they aren't available anymore, they are common. You atleast saw an hundred of those title running around, for sure, because these aren't RARE. Scarab Lord is another thing, it's extremely rare even if it's still obtainable. I remember someone in one of my guild during BC with that title and just having the title gave him a name. I know a lot of guild that would be interested in having a Scarab Lord in their guild. Same thing goes with Atiesh, just having this baby in your bag means much. Yes people are wailling to pay a lot for that, because having it means a lot on WoW. It's easy to make a show-off when you have atiesh or Scarab Lord or Grand Marshal, not the same when you have The Noble. This account worth a lot just for the Title and vanity items it has, because with this account you not only have a character, you also have a name on the server.

I'm not going to call you stupid, but that's how you're making yourself look right now. There was a bug that caused the gates to be CLOSED on new servers and it gave people with the scepter the opportunity to get Scarab Lord AFTER the legitimate event back during Vanilla. While you're right it is an extremely valuable and noteworthy title I want to clarify that it WAS obtainable after the event.

Enough with the off-topic. Let's keep this clean from now on.

I never said it wasn't available after the event. I didn't know about the bug, but doesn't change anything in what I said. There's only A LIMITED AMOUNT of players with this title, that's it.

Completely untrue.

Anybody who had all of the materials necessary could also complete the quest for the title and mount for 10-12 hours (can't remember which) after the gates were opened. Some of the newer servers would have players who would collaborate and open the gates at a point where they could maximize the number of people who got this title. However, in the old days... yes normally on the server there would only be one player who would have had the scepter during that time.

However, even in light of that... this is perhaps the rarest title in the game, and completely worthy of people spending lots of money on it.

So you start your reply again calling me completely stupid, then are corrected by other people as well -.-

It is also no longer available, and hasn`t been for a while. However it was available for a good time on new servers before they automatically opened the gates whether it was complete or not on new servers.

Lets end this little flamefest, as this is not what I come here for. You got corrected. Also there were new servers released after ALL this that you could transfer to to get the title and mount as they never had the gates opened, being a new server. It is a very rare title and yes it adds to the value of a toon. My original query was purely about how much value it adds (i.e. questioning if it multiplies the value of the account by 4-5).

So after being abused and still being correct, lets stop hijacking the thread :p

EDIT: Scarab Lord - WoW-Achievements

Taking numbers, even from that site, that scans over 20 million chars there is 0.2933% of people known that have it. Bit of maths and I make it 59695 chars that have it, that are known to the site. There are probably more.

Rare? Yes. Uber rare, maybe.
