EU+US Thoughts on fire mage

I have had many tinks over the years but never a mage. Have a 19 war/Lock atm was wondering if fire mage was any good. Idc about top tier. Just want it to be fun

Get a healer friend or two to queue with. Mage isn't that fun to solo queue imo
 
Mage is better now that 10 disc isn't a thing. Before it was just pure aids. The thing with mage atm is that it is hard to be a deciding factor in a game by yourself. This is mainly due to mages no longer having blazing speed and cs, which offered a wide range of unique plays in terms of locking down a team and being mobile.

With that said, mage is definitely still a fun class. Just don't expect to be a carrying, godlike machine. Mage is really good for snowballing when your team is already winning. However, if your team is on the backfoot, playing mage can be tough.

This is of course all with fire in mind, which I find to be the best spec for BG's as of late.

I have a 16 twink Fire Mage that hits 1.1k with fireball with crit and he's not full geared and yes I said 16 I did it because the scaling and the fact that I wanted ice barrier :) don't judge
 
I used to have a 16 twink rogue. I had a think of every class but the account got perma banned so I have to start over with no grandfathered gear feelsbadman

Yay I'm not alone on lvl 16s XD well I wouldn't be if you didn't get perma banned

Idc about being super op tbh im one of those guys that doesn't believe in gy "containing" in pugs or anything so I don't mind being op anyways. im that guy that if my team is gy farming I will be sitting in the middle of the map afk.
 
I played mine in BC and WotLK, it was tough. But I loved it.
But that was long before these new crazy ass talent trees.

But back in the day, normal Fireballs were 220 every hit.
People didn't like that. lol
 
Fire is super fun made one on bh and its only lvl 16 w/o the super high ilvl gear topping dmg having a blast but I agree pyro does need to hit harder. Fireball is a truck though

I've been playing arcane mage and having fun with it. There are not a lot of mages playing, and I haven't tried fire or frost yet, but it seems to me that damage from arcane may be equal or better than fire overall, with frost lowest. Mostly it seems my job is to poly the disc priests, however, and build for short bursts of tons of damage to get kbs. Once you blow your load it gets tricky if someone's on you and blink/nova/ice barrier (or whatever the shield is called) are on cd
 
I wasn't saying that you weren't I was just saying that what happened in wod doesn't mean anything. I was asking for people currently playing fire mage opinion
