So I was rollin' with my homies from <Horde Invasion>. Eventually we came up against a team from Sanctuary. Each side had five 24s. It was a fantastic match with very intense PVP action, neither side gave up, and the final outcome was up in the air until just the final seconds of the game. Tip of the hat to all who participated. (Since I know you're going to ask, I'll go ahead and say that the final outcome was a Horde win, 3 - 1.)
Was cap back and forth back and forth until the very end!
Those are the best kind. They go down to the freaking wire with both teams knowing that the game could turn on a dime. Couple days ago I was in a party that we went up against an Alliance team of all 20s, about six of whom were from the same realm. On Horde side we had two 24s. Again, this was another intense fight that went down down to the wire. Horde scored first, then Alliance came back to score twice. Time was draining off the clock, our offense was countered every time, we looked up and saw that there was only one minute on the clock as we charged into the Alliance FR. The Ally FC and his healers and bodyguards were constantly on the move. This was a game in which a hunter's kill command in the final seconds finished off the Ally FC, allowing Horde to score last and win the match.
It was so good that I immediately made a level one toon on the realm that most of them were from just so I could congratulate them on their incredible fight.
It also occurs to me that players who afk out after the opposing team scores a first cap cheat themselves out of the thrill of these incredible comebacks. They're so worried about their precious win-loss record that they just cannot stand losing, so when the going gets tough, they run away with their tails between their legs. (Who the hell pays attention to a win-loss record anyway? If I get 10,000 wins, will I get a free toaster or something?) Some of the allies who I see afk out after a first Horde cap are actually proficient players, others are notorious GY campers. Sometimes i think I'll make level one Alliance toons on their servers just so I can talk to them about it, not to berate them, but just to talk to them one pvper-to-another.
["Dude, you're missing out on some really great games where Alliance comes back to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Plus, the Horde have noticed, they've even come up with disparaging nicknames which refer to your practice of afking out, and Horde hunters have even taken to giving their pets nicknames which poke fun at you for afking out."]
