Teach me how to hunter!

I've recently come back the Wonderful World of Warcraft, and have been toying around with each of the classes. I have a mostly geared F2P and a GF'ed Vet hunter, but I'm so out of practice with hunter's I feel I'm vastly underperforming. They are both survival as of now, but I'm planning to test marksman. Any tips/tricks/ general help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys,

There are far more than two buttons, but thanks for the completely unhelpful response bud. I used to spread serpent stings for pressure to healers, and focus healers whose disc shield broke/a melee was on. Without the spread pressure, single target I seem to auto fold 1v1 vs pretty much any healer as they can just outlast me and DoT me down. In group fights i simply can't put enough pressure and find it hard to burn through 4-5k health when any healers are present

how was it unhelpful? that's basically all you do rofl.

Use a pet that reduces healing done.

Press 4 buttons. Watch for priests/monks shield, you don't want to damage a ready to end shield.

Always root a druid when he wildcharges you(tenacity), then you disengage.

And , last but not less important, (actually the most important), DON'T YOU DARE BACKPEDDAL!

Hunters are pathetically easy to play - ALWAYS be moving. There's never a reason for you to be standing still. Positioning is key as a hunter, as for abilities... No point going into the four things you actually use because they're all just common sense. (I miss serpent sting too.)

Yes it's true you can't exactly kill people but you should be getting top damage in most if not all games - the pressure that constant damage output creates is important in any battleground - assuming it's in the right places.

Use your 4 buttons, don't stand still, use Roar of Sacrifice often. You have no real kill potential on any decent healer, so your best bet is to either put pressure on healers forcing them to heal themself rather than others, and burst on targets that have melees connected on them.

Be as far back as you can while being able to shoot your target.

Know which targets to pressure or kill.

Know which targets to slow.

Kite as far as you can.

Kite.

Kite.

Kite.

In warsong gulch one of my favorite roles is escorting your flag carrier through mid.

Isnt there a way to be combat bugged? I saw someone maybe used pet healing to be on combat so that rogues arent able to sap you? I could be wrong idk

1. Use roar of sacrifice
2. Manage your focus (try to have atleast 50 focus at all times and use it all when the kill is guarenteed).
3. Use exlposive shot on cooldown
4 Keep your distance from enemies
5. No backpeddling
6. Use concussive shot effectively. Slowing down healers and protecting other teamates is important
7. In big group situations like Alterac Valley target healers in this order (Priest, Resto Druid, Mistweaver, Resto Shaman, Holy Paladin)
8. Never go below 3k health in bgs
9. Have some Haste, just a LITTLE!
10. When fighting a feral, trinket their rake BUT ITS IMPORTANT NOT TO USE DISENGAGE RIGHT AWAY. Instead use concussive shot so, it forces them to use wild charge and then use disengage to counter it.
11. Most importantly ignore haters like Beefcurtainz

Geez I should make a hunter guide but im way too lazy
