Tazik leveling, 9 powerlvls in 2 days, only 10k spent

While it was posted several times, i decided that i'm gonna share my experience since it's recent one. I see that people are still asking about, and somebody said it's been hotfixed, so i want to point out, it still works, so go get your taziks/springs, while you can. This should be your priority number 1 since it's "cheap" even if you dont have 85, you can still do it with freeing 1 profession and picking up mining (obsidium ore farming for 425-450 is piss easy too in Hyjal, there is eastern area that connects to Winterspring with practically no mobs and short spawning of obsidium ore)

It still works as of last week 2/22/2012, i was going ape monkey on that since i was afraid they will fix it. I was late on couple things like that in the past, so this time i made sure to get advantage of it. Skinning/herbing bug allowing you to go from 1-525 on lvl 5 mobs comes in my mind

Trick is as most of vets know that if you learn goblin engi, you get to learn cheap mats recipe once you finish goblin engi quest specialization from either SW or Org trainer, that will allow you to powerlvl from 200-425. You do not need to go to Ratchet for gnome/goblin specialization anymore, it has been changed to SW/ORG trainer. Just to save you time, since i went there automatically.

This is the savior that we are talking about: Global Thermal Sapper Charge - Spell - World of Warcraft

Couple pointers:

1. If this is your first time leveling engi, you will not get to autolearn this recipe!! It only works if you already knew it in past, and paid trainer for it. So very first time you will have to go through whole pain of leveling. Check WoW Engineering Guide 1-525 | Engineering Leveling Guide for fastest way.

2. If you tried for tazik and missed, do not drop engi right away, make sure to use your high skill to get enough mats for sapper charges so you can powerlvl at least once

3. From my experience, it is much better to focus on that recipe alone, even if there are mats for normal skilling on AH, i tried to buy thorium and solid stones and other when i saw it was cheap but in reality, i wasted time on it, since it clutters your bags and you have to send stuff to alts and back, relog and shit, and it's not worth it, so after 3rd relvl i focused on sapper alone and it was much more bearable, so do yourself a favor and just get these mats, rest doesn't matter (and you will keep your sanity even after 15th relvl)
Crystallized Water - Item - World of Warcraft
Cobalt Bar - Item - World of Warcraft
Saronite Bar - Item - World of Warcraft
- cobalt bars are probably most painful as they are usually overpriced so farm your own in Howling Fjord (my favorite spot, low lvl mobs and decent nodes)
- crystallized water you get as byproduct from mining cobalt and saronite ore and usually you can pick it for cheap on AH (either in this or Eternal water form)
- saronite bars are easiest to get in Wintergrasp bar none, that zone is empty most of the time, and there are spots with no mobs whatsoever to farm this and titanium ore (which you will need for Jeeves and couple other perks too), if you're using lvl 75+ you can get free port every time WG battle is up, so just queue for WG battle from PVP queue tab

4. Once you hit 425, go for Handful of Obsidium Bolts - Item - World of Warcraft, it will get green after a while but since it's so easy to farm in Hyjal, it's no biggie

5. Make sure if you get decent perk to save it on your gloves (at least PVP ones, those are cheap), speaking of Spinal Healing Injector - Spell - World of Warcraft or Synapse Springs - Spell - World of Warcraft mainly

6. Plan ahead and gather mats for goblin specialization quest so it won't hold you up later on. Even if you make much more than needed, it sells well, since people check on AH for these mats often.

Happy releveling, i did 9 or so in 2 days, completely bearable, also i blew decent chunk on stuff i didnt wanna bother farming, so it can be done cheaper. Have fun with those butterflies thingies in your stomach everytime you cross 440+

TLDR version:

1. Level engineering with goblin specialization normal way to 450 (at least till you get to learn global thermal sapper charge at 425)
2. Drop engi if no tazik
3. Level engi normal way to 200 just to get goblin specialization quest from org/sw trainer again
4. Since you already learned global thermal sapper charge before, it will autolearn again once goblin specialization quest is turned in, as in picture below

5. Now you are able to go quickly from 200-425 just by making global thermal sapper charges from the 3 easy to get mats you farmed earlier (cobalt bar, saronite bar, crystallized water)

When are they removing the tinkers? :O

They are not removing them, they "might" remove sapper leveling as you're supposed to learn that one at 425, not at 200, so my "get your tazik/ss while you can" refered to easy relvling while it is possible compared to PITA of going through 200-425 with any other mats.

Could you explain how sapper leveling works and how you learn it at 200? Thanks for the informative post.

Do you think this would still work if I complete the goblin quest, change faction, then started relevelling engi?

Nice by the way :3

thx for guide and combined info. already did and posted it in screens thread ;p

Yeah, actually you were the one that made me try it, thx for that:D. That's why i wrote most veterans know about it. I only reposted it because i saw people asking about it again and again and i remember somebody said it was hotfixed. What I think happened is that they were gnome engi, and when they picked up goblin quest they didnt autolearn thermal charge recipe, so wanted to straighten things out and wrote this guide to help new folks. It is common knowledge to most serious twinks but new people get stuck and think it's not working.

And it's always nice to have it in separate thread instead of buried somewhere in random screenshot thread. Especially if it's gem like this, and most sought after tinker.

Regarding your question Meat, honestly i have no idea, it's so easy to relvl with this that if you get your own miner, you dont need to spend a dime and get all tinkers in very short time, rng based but still should not take more than week even with baddest luck.

gz on tazik, 5thor 9th tinker your rng is much better than mine.
4 re lvls on a gnome here. Not a single tazik.

I think you should edit first post with this reply ^^

ye but it takes cobalt bars too, they aren't that cheap on my realm, 130 per stack =/

That's why i suggest dropping one profession for mining, it makes things a lot easier, and once you're done you can relevel 2nd profession back.

If you can't (JC dailies recipes etc), best option would be roll blood DK (tanking spec for faster lvling to 68 at least), make him farming alt (if you already haven't done that, works like charm) and park him at Howling Fjords to do quick 15 min cobalt ore farming sessions when you feel like it. Also it's nice money maker, as you pointed out 130 gold per stack, even without guild bonus Bountiful Bags - Spell - World of Warcraft (additional chance for more ore) you should be able to get several stacks in 15 min there.

I actually farmed so much extra, that once i got tazik i sold remaining cobalt/saronite (split bars and ores for JC's) and bought chopper from AH for 17k if i remember right. so it's win/win

I have a question, do i need the mats to REdo the goblin spec quest?

Thx for the guide, this need to be pinned in front page!

Yes you do need to get mats everytime you get Goblin Engineering - Quest - World of Warcraft (but as i said in first post, even if you make let's say enough for 10 goblin spec quests, whatever will remain unused, sells very well on AH, since most people check for them when they are leveling alts for quicker turn in)

If you're an engi, I believe you can also go to Fizzcrank's Airstrip in Borean Tundra to farm the mechanicals for Volatile Blasting Triggers. It may or may not be faster than actually farming Cobalt, depends on your luck.

Good point, and as additional plus, all these suckers have a chance to drop Schematic: Jeeves - Item - World of Warcraft.(not on kill, rather on using your engi skill to disassemly them). Do not learn it, until you are done with engineering and tinker you want

I did it yesterday on my rogue, and on my first Relvl, got Sinapse (and im not going to try Tazzik) .

YOU CAN SELL 5 BOMBS (1 CAST) FOR 2.5G! on my server, im buying cobalt ore for 100g/stack (smelting) and saronite 30g/stack (it means that bar stack = 60g). i got A LOT eternal from my WotLK, so each cast of the bomb cost me 10.5g, but i get 2.5g back! that means im paying 8g per eng lvl!
im using the wow-professions eng guide, and points become more expensive then 8g i do the bomb recipe.
