Stacking frost resistance

I thought of it a long time ago, and saw a thread on it again so I decided to try it on my rogue.I found the results kind of shocking, but it's very iffy. Hopefully you guys can see some use for it.

As human rogue, I was able to get 227 frost resistance which is 56.47% frost damage reduction. My rogue is not bis, but with the frost resist gear I lose about 350 ap, so obviously my damage is lower.

I've dueled a few 70 twink mages (none of them really that good) and had them test damage on me. I can sit a full deep and not drop below 50%, and it takes them so much longer to kill me, like a lot longer. The only problem is my damage is lower so it takes a decent amount of time to kill them also.

Another cool thing is a lot of the mages spells get resisted. Deeps, fof ice lances, etc. It's all rng though. The only way I see this being useful in arena is if you know who you are queuing into, but outside that I don't see much use.

I got this much resist by the following:

Gyrofreeze Ice Reflector x2 =30
The Frozen Eye =35
Sapphire Signet =22
Fur Lining =70
Superior Frost Resistance =20
Pendant of Thawing =30
Mechanized Snow Goggles =20

Added after(can't get yet):
Arcanum of Frost Warding =20

There was a way to get more, but it was sacrificing main set pieces.

Your thoughts?

You missed the fact that almost all mages are going to be running at least 70 spell penetration.

Thus your effective frost resistance is more like 157 than 227 (around 47% average damage mitigation as opposed to 56.47%).

Also for BG's, do not forget to run with a Flask of Chromatic Wonder for an extra 35 resistance.

head enchant + cloak enchant+ dwarf racial + LW on wrists. those are enough to survive any mage and completely ignore it

With only Stamina and frostres. If you dont want to lose alot of stats except few enchants- just get LW+dwarf racial+ those 2 on head/cloak.

Random enchant, you still get 17 agi/str/int. Considering that he gave up BOTH trinkets for 30 frost resistance, I'd say it's a better trade.

I mean this is probably a novelty set, but imagine 30% resil, not having to worry about spell pen working through resist, keeping precious stats by using brutals, swp, etc.
