Information about how the thread works and considerations:

KEY: A colored * next to something indicates its quality within an RPG GBPO color scheme. A Link with THIS COLOR AND OR UNDERLINE will either need to be opened via right click(open in new tab) OR Middle Click, otherwise they will replace this page when using Left Click. I apologize to anyone colorblind ahead of time, I have underlined these links. <3

BP = Breakpoints (Bracket caps for DR)
DR =
Diminishing Returns (Secondary/Tertiary stat gives less the more you have)
GF = Grandfathered (No longer obtainable)
BIS = Best items for gear slots(Helm, neck, shoulder, etc.)

WF = Warforged items.

All opinions come from my play on toons or alongside toons @ 50ilvl+. I'm classist not racist choose whatever race you think works for your goals. Making test toons before commiting is fine. If a race enables a tier upgrade I will make an exception for arguing bis race.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE 10/11+ In terms of enemy health, there is none. In terms of talents, there might be some. Look at your rotation at 10 and image including the 11 talent, It's as simple as that. BIS 10 and BIS 11 are the same excluding the 11 talent or any spell/item unlock. The real difference is at 12 with every level adding around half a hit more in order to kill the average trash mob. Boss health is a bit more noticeable each level you climb.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER: When playing with others please consider how their class plays, teamwork often keeps people happy even if YOU can 1 shot. Kiting to gain glory can become sloppy fast, please do not leave adds for the party to kill unless those adds are low hp and don't crowd control. Skillfully and quickly Communicate complicated maneuvers you might do as you clear the instance to avoid fumbles. If you don't know if you can kite a mob or not without it doing any Crowd Control to players don't kite it! Learn what's kite-able and learn what needs nuking! <3

WARNING ABOUT BEING A NEWB BOOSTER: It is considered VERY RUDE if you're the reason for a customer/LFG members death.
Do everything in your power to give the carried a path to the boss. If you do not know how to start a Power Level or are aware of the obstacles involving one please check out the How to set up a Power Level: Retail thread. Please for the sake of the community image don't let others die.


FEEL FREE TO SUBMIT RUNS: If one is not posted I will eventually get around to featuring it in a video. Faster Solo/LFG runs will replace slower runs. if you have a build that isnt featured I will also make a tier listing for c tier+ times of 10 minutes or less either solo or grouped.

An overview of Best in Slot (BIS) gear as well as other options:
BIS is mostly Warlord of Draenor(Iron Horde) dungeon WarForged(WF) gear with some exceptions based on class/specialization(spec). Such as Balefire branch** from Waycrest Manor, Blade of Eternal Darkness* from Maraudon and Hunger of the Pack* from Halls of Valor. Your weapons and armor types are listed in the general Spellbook page towards the back default P in-game.


This Thread does not include exploited gear since those items will be fixed eventually. Look around the site/discord for those kind of items. <3

WHAT IS WARFORGED GEAR?: Warforging/Titanforging is when an item increases in item level through random number generation(RNG). Example would be a level 11 blue at ilvl 36 while its WF counterpart would be ilvl 62. Items cannot Titanforge anymore! A titanforged item, all things considered now-a-days, would be a WF with a tert and or socket. But lets not use that terminology please as it may confuse the community. Historically a players average item level was their level x2-3. With 10.02 this has been increased to x3-4 base and x5-6 with WF. Quest items do not WF they have a sister system which uses the old Titanforging mechanic to be able to double proc. Such as a green turning into a purple. This thread has quests which have a upgrade which would be = to a WF your level.

WHAT'S ABLE TO WF/SOCKET/TERT?
Only Helm, Neck, Rings, Waist and Wrist can socket+tert+WarForge. Sadly Boots, Chest, Cloak, Gloves, Legs, Trinket and Weapons can only tert+WarForge. RNGESUS BE WITH YOU.

WHAT ARE WF CHANCES?: Around 10% for every bonus on top of the last chance. BIS stats/socket/tert is VERY RARE. Solo is 100% blue drop chance. Group loot is divided by party count. A better breakdown of Chances are in this thread

WHAT ARE TERTIARY STATS?:
+#% Speed
* - Though not a tertiary stat it needs to be placed here. Comes from the Gift enchant(s) (ilvl60 and below) and Minor Speed (ilvl50 and below). A different stat than Speed entirely, this will not show unless you have an addon showing more stats such as Dejacharacterstats or something similar.
Speed* - Move faster, stacks with +#% from the enchants mentioned above.
Leech* - Receive healing based on % of damage done.
Avoidance* - Take Less Area of Effect damage.
Indestructible* - Gear not take durability damage.
Socket* - Isn't considered tertiary, having its own chance to roll onto gear in addition to a tert.

BIS GEAR DISCLAIMER: It's complicated, you need to farm wod for anything and I mean anything (as long as you can use the secondaries). Just cause an item isn't bis doesn't mean it wont be part of a bis set. Breakpoints and Diminishing Returns can make what seems like a bis item not because the 2nd bis would give more benefit to another secondary. That being said you will see bis lists pop up in discord and even in this thread. Remember that the BP/DR is more important than any item. MW monk is a great example. after 23.5% haste your wasting dps by going anymore haste. But a BIS item in someone's list my have more haste listed. It's relative to your intended goal. Should you choose to revolve around breakpoints you will have a stronger character in general. Should you choose to stack 1 secondary you will just have more of that secondary at the cost of dps. BIS is a perfect mixture of haste/crit/vers/mastery.

An overview on Secondary Breakpoints/Diminishing Returns, Racials, Base Stat Values and Proc Rates:
Your class/spec might want more or less than 30%. This tier list will eventually contain specific values for each listed spec. There comes a point when more damage stats is less damage compared to speed and better kiting/aoe use. Keep in mind how pathing works and what shortcuts you can take in your runs to better speed clear/boost. I recommend speed gems ( green*/ blue* 1 of each ) for your first 2 gem slots. Speed Tertiary% cap at 10 is 49%. This stacks with other +#% Move Speed items/spells for more than 49% move speed.

An overview of Professions (BIS is Alchemy & Engineering):
Here is a guide on 300 Alchemy. Best Flask for all specializations/classes is the reusable 300 Classic Alchemy Flask*. Additional recipes: Rage Potion* Great Rage Potion* Lesser Mana Potion* Swiftness Potion* MORE TO BE ADDED
Not all enchants work even if they can be applied to gear. Make sure to look before and after. Lets pray 10.1 fixes this! The enchants listed in the old 10's Guide are still relevant for blue items ilvl 50(60neck/cloak) - credit goes to those that worked on it.
If you have a subscription use the Auction House to buy your enchants.
Below is a list of the best enchant options for your WF gear.

(For speed set ilvl50), Any Gift: "Gift of" cloak enchant(ilvl 60)

Northrend Engineering will give you two tinkers worth using, at Northrend Engineering 5 you unlock Flexweave Underlay and Frag Belt; this can crit. Nitro Boots(WotLk 30) keep in mind Nitro boots has a chance to fail and do massive damage to your toon for approximately 80% of your total health. Damage Retaliator(SL45) does around 50 damage per melee hit taken for 20 seconds. The best cloak tinker is Goblin Glider(MOP25). More can be found in your Engineering UI in-game.
As of 10.02 LW Leg Enchants do not work on WF gear. 10.1 may change this.
I have not tested it but I assume Inscription enchants also do not work on WF gear.
Links for Epic Gems and Blue Gems (tooltips are not accurate). Tear drop and circle shaped gems give either 1 stat of 3 or 2 stats of 2/2. Nightmare Tear is unique, it gives you 3stam and 3 mainstat. You may use 1 of each Speed Gem green*/blue*
Req Ilvl 50 or below. testing was done on This toon.
Iron Shield Spike* - 1-3 Damage on block.
Mithril Shield Spike* - 5-7 Damage on block.
Thorium Shield Spike* - 8-9 Damage on block. This is the best Shield Spike option.
Felsteel Shield Spike* - 1 Damage on Block.
Tested on This Toon. Both Sharpening and Weightstones add same damage.

Method for Skipping WoD Intro to access Garrison 30 minutes faster: Select The Iron Horde at chromie: Use the Blasted Lands Tp instructed in the quest: Abandon The quest: Go Through The Red Dark Portal: Finish a few quests and obtain Garrison Hearthstone. This skip also unlocks the Ashran Portal in the Capital City
After choosing an Inn for your bunker make sure to build a Bunker(Alliance) and a War-Mill(horde). This will allow the Quest Ogre Ancestry to have a higher chance to upgrade to WF.
To be prepared is a repeatable quest via the npc Archivist Elysiana in Violet Citadel (TALL Tower up the stairs in Legion Dalaran). Simply don't turn in the quest once you have it and you will receive 2 buffs that work in dungeons; Polish Armor and Holy Enchantment. If you can't see or redo the quest a P-sync with someone that can will phase you in. Holy Enchantment doesn't do much but can proc Elemental Force.
Before Questing in Legion it's highly recommended that you select the Class Order Hall upgrade which increase upgrade chance for quest items. Each Hall requires you recruit members and do the hour long mission before unlocking the passive to upgrade quest rewards.

The lower a build in level the higher in damage it tends to do. 16's are fun but not nearly as viable as 10, 11, 12 or even 13.

S Tier Rankings & Logic:

S+ 10/11 Guardian Druid: Moonfire* in Bear form enables the best kite in the game. Thrash* and Swipe* are great aoe. Maul*(@11) and Mangle* are both heavy hitting single target. Swipe* and Moonfire* can be held to Repeat Cast. Regrowth*** will cap heal any player, you only have 4 casts until oom. You have a Dash* and Cat*/Travel*. You have access to all 3 roles in the queue. Going cat form while Guardian is decent single target but fast energy use. Combo points are retained for a short time. Cat Swipe*, Cat mangle*, Cat Bite* and Cat Thrash* is the available toolkit. Bite can do almost 1k so playing around with cat combo points can sometimes be a fun break from bear form.

S+ 10/11 Restoration Shaman: Chain Lightning* is the strongest aoe but requires stopping to cast more than Arcane and Bear; thus the "*". Ghost Wolf will make up for this but you will lag behind in faster parties.

Lava Burst*, Chain Lightning*, and Lightning Bolt* can 1 shot trash. @ 11 You get Riptide* which will instant cap heal the target. Flame Shock* is an instant damage dot which makes Lava burst a auto Critical Strike, make sure to always use it before Lava burst. Lightning Shield** crits for 80-100 damage. Primal Strike* is weak melee as you pass a mob while staying mobile. There are cases when a kited mob will die from a Primal Strike, don't underestimate its use.

10 is better than dps 11 due to enchants. Riptide at 11 is not a requirement to heal. Most Shaman go 11 to also play around with the Elemental spec.

S 11 Fury Warrior: 10 Fury has no Enrage* capability and cannot DW2H*, making 11 the far superior option. With that aside this is how 11 plays. First action should be to Charge* to your target if applicable. You're able to macro in your Heroic Throw* or a Frag Belt* into a Charge*. Spam Whirlwind* to proc LS as much as possible. Bloodthirst* isn't really worth hitting outside of special kiting situations. Always hit Execute* when available. You have access to Hamstring* and Pummel*. DO NOT USE SLAM*!

S- 10 Mistweaver Monk: Spinning Crane Kick* with the Lifesteal Enchant* on a 3.6 speed weapon is super great dps/hps. Allowing even a fresh MW to tank any amount of mobs. However Lifesteal* can't be placed on bis weapons (currently). Weakish Single target/Boss kill, Rising Sun Kick is a heavy hitter but comes at the cost of the Tiger Lust talent. Use Touch of Death on every possible boss.
BP for Haste/Versatility/Critical Strike: 23.5% Haste and as much Versatility as you can get. Critical Strike is okay but doesn't really shine compared to the raw damage of Versatility. Once at 23.5% haste try to avoid it for Critical Strike/Versatility gear instead. -Thanks to @pokspell, The Spin Master" on discord for testing and making this.

A+ 10/11 Elemental Shaman: Really great damage with high Mastery but requires stopping to cast. Ghost Wolf* can help with getting you near 175%+ move speed with enough tertiary Speed Stat.

Elemental is approx. 50% weaker but 50% cooler looking than Restoration. Healing Surge* eats mana so if you queue as healer and switch to Elemental be aware of the low mana pool. Elemental needs more than 75% Mastery for Chain Lightning* to be reliably insane on 2-3 target mob packs. 4-5 targets = Emperor Palpatine's Unlimited Power. A high (80%+) Mastery Elemental is fun but not as easy to play as Resto. Chain Mastery chance is divded by the amount of targets up to 5. Chain Lightning can't proc Mastery on a single target. Lightning Bolt* is a better single target despite being less damage per cast than Chain Lightning. @ 11 Elemental gets the Earth Shock* Talent allowing use for their Maelstrom resource. Elemental's Lightning Shield* is decent damage over a period of time and enough hits taken. Resto Shield does more damage. Frost Shock* is spammable for decent single target kiting.

A+ 11/13 Surv Hunter: Raptor Strike* is really strong single target. You can't die due to pet tanking and Healing*. Depending on your pet type 10% Leech* OR 8% Move Speed*. Since survival is such a heavily single target spec it can be annoying with alot of big pulls. At 13 I recommend choosing Wildfire Bomb* to help with aoe. Anything above 13 is a dps cut. Bis Survival Hunter for Single target is level 11. Bis Survival Hunter multitarget is level 13. Use Kill Command* wisely in order to best facilitate Focus Generation. Kill Shot* is your execute for bosses and trash, it has a forgiving cooldown and makes for much easier nuking of VIP targets.

WindWalker: Fist of Fury's* damage is the mob packs HP. It can also be used while moving. Roughly a 20 second cd (affected by haste) . You can easily make work of each mob pack and most of the bosses Health. 13 makes fist of fury setup a bit easier with the Power Strikes Talent*.

A 10-12 Holy Priest: Holy Nova* will heal most players in a couple uses as well as deal more damage than most leveling tanks can agro. Shadow Word: Pain* is an instant damage dot that will kill mobs shortly after you Holy Nova* pass them. Power Word: Shield** will x4 targets health. Renew* is instant cast and heals for alot. Spam Mind Blast* and Smite* on bosses.

12's Holy Nova is alot stronger after a long time building stacks with Rhapsody. This is less damage overall compared to a 10. Holy's base damage is higher than the other 2 specializations making it the more viable option for dps/hps. Overall not the best aoe or single target but multitask Aoe is unique.

Stat Priority: Critical Strike* / Haste* / Versatility* - keep all even around 30% if possible.
Avoid Mastery* Base Mastery is enough with Holy Nova* spam. The tiny hot amount goes a long way on a 30+ target. Renew* is better than any amount of Mastery.

B Tier Ranking Logic:__

B 13-16 Havoc Demon Hunter:
Very niche in that it requires good positioning and fast tabbing to deal with targets. AT 14 speed is added to Mastery* with the talent Pursuit*(Pursuit only shows on the Havoc Mastery tooltip but works for both spec 16 for Vengence). While Vengence* is better at surviving, Havoc* is better at damage. Both can go ZOOM ZOOM!

Dashing around with 2 stacks of Fel Rush
* and also Vengeful Retreat* makes for good mobility. Eye beam* is powerful and has a 40 second cooldown.

**Getting out of the DH starting area is easy to do while staying below 15 if you only do what you have to and kill lesser mobs for quest credit OR get credit whilst dead from an allies kill.**

I recommend 16 because it has a few more options in terms of dungeons and talents compared to a 13, 14, or 15.

DH can't be 10 so that's why I say 13-16. A BIS 16 will do about 10% more damage than a BIS 20 of the same spec. Making 20 a viable option if DH is what you want to carry others with. Lower level is more damage but DH talents are very lacking the lower you are, make a few alts to find what works for you.

B+ 10-16 Protection Paladin: Like a Protection Warrior but with cooldowns on every ability and no dot on enemies. However, it does slightly out perform Protection warrior. Judgment* hits pretty hard when it critical strikes. Consecration* damage isn't the best and is more meant to help agro. Steed* is nice for getting around. (Reworking explanation shortly)

It looks good. Definitely curious how other characters damage looks so ill have to look into that! Obviously I'm near bis so it's skewed compared to a BoA lvl 11. But running dungeons is basically nonstop WW spam with +60% move speed always up. I'll see if I can post a video to tag in the list.

Edit: Oh yeah, Guardian is OP! We love to see it. Honestly, I think Guardian is in it's own tier. Resto (cast and move speed), fury (single tar dps), and arcane (cast st/lower aoe, mana?) seem to all have their downsides where Guardian doesn't. What do you think?

Guardian is the jack of all trades. Normally such a thing would suffer somewhere within a build. However Bear doesn't suffer at all from being well rounded. It has everything any class has and more. in fact it just gets better in 10.05 with the re-addition of Moonfire to baseline bear.

  4. Melee Dot, Check
  5. Spender, Check
  6. CC break and CC cast, check
  7. Instant heal, with a hot, check

Do you have any insight on Blood DK if it's any good this low for solo or do they not have much tools in the 10-15 range? I'd guess Mastery/Verse(never played Blood, just messed around on Frost).

Hmmm yes this class...I do have a few words about DK in general. It isnt good dmg. the toolkit is lacking in all specs. that being said it is going to be making 2 appearances in the C tier meme build category I'll be adding one day

Blood is good def I suppose but its real lacking compared to any other tanks. At 15/16 it seems to slightly begin to shine within its rotation. Sadly the damage isn't good and the need to be standing in a D&D for Heart Strike to aoe is overall a bad mechanic. Though the Crimson Scourge(25% chance) Talent does help with resetting CD of D&D. Blood boil being on a short CD of 6.3(2 stacks) at 19.06% haste isn't that bad. -Blood will play like a op normal tank.

Frost at 13 is actually very fun with crit/haste/vers stat priority or haste/crit/vers. Howling blast is a fun spam mechanic with enough crit for bigger hits or haste for Rune-speed regeneration Honorable shoutout to howling blast for being lowkey open world best farming ability for hyperspawns. Frost will play like an OP normal player that may or may not agro off normal tanks through aoe spam.

Unholy is the weakest of the 3 spec. With a focus on weak aoe spread/killing blow proc in Outbreak and dot exchange via Festering Strike and Scourge Strike. All main 3 abilities in rotation cost runes. Also the dots from unholy don't seem to be affected by haste?!? 15/16 seems best for unholy. Unholy will be an OP normal player that may or may not agro off normal tanks through aoe/single target.

One day all spec will be featured, but for now I'm focusing on the good ones because WF farm is a taxing time sink.

Why no Mastery for Frost if spamming Howling Blast, and with 2x 1 handers, Razor Ice/Fallen Crusader runes or 2x Fallen Crusader?

You will get very little out of Mastery for howling blast Above 25% mastery. 4 mastery is 6 more dmg over 24 sec and no change to initial dmg on howling blast. Rune Strike and Death Strike are Physical dmg. Death Coil and Death and Decay are shadow damage and you'll need the def of vers more if you are agroing I wouldn't go any mastery if I can afford to. 25% mastery DR is only around 18 mastery total. SO SUPER BAD STAT WIEGHT for toolkit.

Some players have Grandfathered gear from when more content was accessible, or they found a way into the dungeon. Everything does scale in the dungeon journal and some people do know exploits. This toon looks familiar so im willing to say that its a GF thing you shouldn't worry about or an exploit that isnt released yet or fixed.

you should farm wod dungeons and get a hunger of the pack from legion halls of Valor.

Alright let the DK die hard main dive in here for ya.
Blood: really suffers from a lack of spells and mastery only helps survival which, if you are twinking, should not be the goal for speed runs. This leaves you with haste/crit/verse. Verse doesn’t do enough for blood when your spells honestly are lacking to begin with, same with crit. Haste would probably be best, but there’s not much for you to want to hit (button wise) kind of relying on melees.
Frost: Oh god how I wish it would work. Mastery is TERRIBLE until you get the Obliteration = frost damage. Which doesn’t happen until way down the tree. Meaning you’re most likely stacking crit, but even then, HB spam will run you out of runes super fast. Haste would be a decent stat for stacking, trying to get more ticks more frequent and more tunes for more spam. Verse could be good if you could ever get enough haste to keep you at 1+ runes available.
Unholy: Haven't tested at low levels since DF, will attempt some of this tonight once I’m home from work and will edit this comment.

Edit 2: Oh boy, how do I even say this, as a level 10 (you gotta go to 13 btw) you don't get HB, or SS for unholy. DK is DEAD as a toon until you hit 14 just due to a lack of spells... period :(
