im deciding right now if my next twink should be a warrior or a ret paladin because i want a melee that isnt a rogue. the problem is i dont think ive ever seen a ret in any of the bgs ive done. are rets just not good at all in this bracket or are they just not represented?
Ret is OK... has good offheals and very nice hits with TV. If you know what you are doing you can be effective. However, holy/prot is generally chosen because they have all the utility of a ret pally and more.
Also, you should probably consider MoP in your choice, both Warriors and Pallies get big mobility buffs, so they will be more viable. I would go Warrior for MoP.
He's right - Retadins do massive, massive damage - lay down some massive damage 1k+ crits and 5 second stun is best cc in the bracket imo and you can always do the hammer exo spam for the lulz
Plus good off heals
But you will get annoyed with the conc shots and getting kited so ogtta play smart
Rets are hard hitting classes just have to raise your skill up in the awareness field. Remember one bad move and you can find yourself getting focused, kitted and conc'd in seconds. And with a class that has 0 slows or "get aways" is devastating
I play ret offspec, and I must agree with the above statements, hard hitting but easy kiteable.
Though I find rets good in O with their HoJ and up to 1.5k crit (my highest crit) with Templar's, so I would say go ret!
